This year’s Survivor Series PPV match card has shaped up to be one of the biggest of all time.
It is the 30th anniversary of the prestigious WWE event which is generally hosted at the very end of the WWE calendar. This year, the lineup is star-studded one, as some of the fans are considering that never before in the history of the event, we have got such lineups.
There is four blockbuster champion vs champion matches on that evening with Raw going head to head against the Smackdown brand with the following lineups:
WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Champion AJ Styles
WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin
RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair
RAW Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Cesaro vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos
Apart from this, there will be two traditional tag team elimination matchups for Survivor Series which are set to steal the thunder of the show. You can imagine the crowd’s reactions when they get to see Kurt Angle, Shane McMahon, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, John Cena, Triple H competing in the same match. Never before in the history of the company, it had happened that so many heavyweight names took part in the match.
But, all of these are stored in the main show of the PPV, whereas, another match is likely to get added to the kick-off show. Mike Johnson from PWInsider.com suggested that another match is likely to be added before the beginning of the main show. The theme of Raw vs Smackdown will be kept intact. Check out the quotes,
“There has been talk backstage today of adding another Kickoff show match with a Raw vs. Smackdown theme.”
There are multiple big names on both Raw and Smackdown roster who will not be involved in the Survivor Series PPV. Names like Bray Wyatt, Jason Jordan, Elias, Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn are set to sit out of the event.
Perhaps, a match is being planned including any superstars from them at the kick-off show. For now, only the Cruiserweight Championship match between Enzo Amore and Kalisto is scheduled for the two-hour long kick-off show before Survivor Series.
