To the much delight of the IWC circuit, WWE made a monumental decision by making Kevin Owens the new Universal Champion, on last week’s Raw. If we are assuming right then we are going to get a dream feud between Rollins and Owens from tonight’s Raw. Going by the latest events, it is certain that the biggest wrestling promotion is giving the fans what they want.
Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins are the two veterans from the indie circuit and hence they have immense popularity. Fans are much pleased to see Roman Reigns out of the title picture. The Big Dog is supposed to re-focus his attention against Rusev for the United States championship. He has a score to settle with the Bulgarian Brute and the match between them should take place at the Clash of the Champions PPV.
We are heading towards this week’s Monday Night Raw where we should learn against whom KO will have his first title defense. However, as per WWE’s announcement, Owens will defend his title in a triple threat match against Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn at the O2 arena in London, England on September 7th. This is a non-televised live event and hence no title changes are expected. Though it’s guaranteed, the British fans will be treated to a super excited match.
WWE is yet to declare KO’s first televised championship defense at the Clash of the Champions PPV scheduled on September 25th. Latest reports suggest that it is going to be a one-on-one bout between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens with Triple H standing in the corner of Owens.
However, plans are subjected to change since Chris Jericho will be inserted to the championship feud, as well. So, we might get a triple threat match, as well. We sure are about to learn more about the same once raw comes live tonight.
In addition at the Clash of the Champions PPV, The New Day will defend their tag team championship against Gallows and Anderson. Charlotte is supposed to defend her championship against Bayley. However, Sasha Banks injury is minor and she might return within two weeks. Hence, there might be a triple threat match waiting for us.
