WWE News: Rob Van Dam Returning To In-Ring Action For 5-Star Wrestling Tournament

5-star wrestling has come up with a blockbuster news of CM Punk returning to in-ring action, a few days ago.

However, that turned out to be a fake news as clarified by the promotion’s Twitter handle, later. The Straight Edge leader also did not release any statement confirming the return.

Later, 5-star wrestling promised to bring another veteran name to the upcoming tournament in the United Kingdom to make it even more glamorous. They did not clarify the name, until now.

The latest announcement on their Twitter handle confirmed that the human wrecking ball, Rob Van Dam is returning to in-rig action as part of the tournament in June. It will be after quite a long time that the fans will witness the returning one in action.

The promotion has released the following statement regarding the former WWE champion joining the 128 men fray:

“We are delighted to announce that @TheRealRVD will participate in our 128 man tournament, starting June 10th in Liverpool.”

Rob Van Dam also took his twitter handle to confirm the news. Names like John Morrison, Moose, Zack Gibson, Bram, Joe Coffey and more are expected to perform in the tournament which is being promoted as the biggest, till date.

The lineups also suggest that it is going to be one of the longest tournaments in the history of pro-wrestling.

Starting from June 10th the series will continue for the next 30 weeks. It will be kicked off from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. More details are yet come about the tournament, soon. It will be held in an elimination format with an undisputed champion crowning in the end.

Rob Van Dam had his last run in the company in the 2013-14 season. He returned as part of the Money in the Bank PPV in 2013. The crowd accepted a performer like him with an open heart. But, with all the supports by his side, WWE failed to arrange something meaningful to him and the run is said to be a failure.
