The WWE Raw 25th anniversary is being hyped up with some legendary names those will be appearing on the show. Till date, a series of names have already been confirmed with plenty more to join them on the night. Meanwhile, there will be a solid main event stored for us on the night. It is going to be the Intercontinental Championship match between Roman Reigns and The Miz.
These two have been sharing bad blood for the better part of 2017. So, we can surely expect a great culmination of the feud on tonight’s show. Considering that this is one of the special editions of the flagship show, the match should be planned accordingly to over-deliver. Quite obviously, WWE is hyping up this match.
Check out the comments from the official website of the company,
“The Big Dog goes into this title rematch with serious momentum, having defeated both members of The Miztourage in a Handicap Match this past Monday on Raw despite The A-Lister’s attempted intervention. Can Reigns honour his family’s unmatched sports-entertainment legacy during the 25th Anniversary of Raw, or will Miz become an eight-time bearer of WWE’s workhorse championship?”
Roman Reigns has been proven a dominant champion ever since he won the IC title back in November. Each night, he defended the title against different superstars from Monday Night Raw roster. The noted thing is that he hardly delivered a bad match in the last few months proving why he is considered to be the franchise player.
However, if the reports from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter is to be believed, then this momentum will not help him to come out with the title from Brooklyn, New York. He is not the favourite to win the match, tonight.
According to the veteran wrestling journalist’s report, The Big Dog is still pencilled in to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title. Hence, it is likely that he will drop the IC title against the Miz to move towards the Universal Championship picture. The A-lister will get back the title which he considers to be his baby and will head towards the biggest stage of them all with the trademark title around his shoulder.
