WWE News: TNA Star Cody Rhodes Comments On WWE Return
Nov 7, 2016 at 4:46 PM
Cody Rhodes, son of the legendary, Dusty Rhodes, had a conflict with the WWE at this year’s beginning which forced him to leave the company. At that time, he was portraying the character of a bizarre persona, Stardust. WWE introduced the character from the so-called fifth dimension to resemble it with his elder brother’s Goldust character, which till date is iconic.
However, the newly invented character turned out to be a disaster for him and took him to nowhere. Cody Rhodes was literally buried in the ground without any proper storyline. He was frustrated with his position in the company and after several demands, he was officially released from WWE. His wife Brandi Rhodes aka Eden Stills was also a known face to the WWE Universe. She was a regular in-ring announcer in the company and also left with her husband.

This was one of the saddest incidents in the WWE since the Rhodes family is very close to the WWE. WWE still pays a huge amount of respect for the American Dreams, Dusty Rhodes which made Cody feel sorry why he is not a part of it. He recently commented about it, “It’s not just strange for me, it’s strange for them. Believe me, there’re various texts back and forth about it. I think one of the things that were so disappointing for me at the end of the time in WWE was simply that people had forgotten what I was doing prior to Stardust.”
He also thinks that the door to a WWE return cannot be wiped out, “I don’t know, I don’t think the door to WWE ever closes. I’m always been told that the revolving door – you know, it’s a tricky question because there were a lot of genuinely large issues for me personally that it would be hypocritical for me to just go back, they would need to be fixed.”

Both Cody Rhodes and his wife are now under contract with TNA wrestling promotion. They made their debut at the Bound for Glory PPV against Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis. With TNA’s current status, it will not be surprising if they do return to WWE, in future.
