Samoa Joe was last seen on the post-Summerslam episode of WWE Raw. He was part of the main event of the dual brand PPV alongside Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman. The match turned out to be one of the best hard-hitting contests in recent times.

Although Joe was unable to win the Universal Championship, he was about to have a dream rivalry, going forward. In case you have forgotten, he had a confrontation with John Cena when the latter one returned to the flagship show for the first time over one year. As per the WWE house show schedule, the rivalry that the audience always wanted to see between them was about to kick-start when Samoa Joe suffered an unfortunate injury.

It happened just after Summerslam in a match against John Cena. The bout took place at a live event in Kansas City that forced him to go on a hiatus. Later it was revealed that he is declaring with a knee concussion that is supposedly keeping him out of actions for four to six weeks.

With that being said, it was quite evident that we would not see him for the next several weeks. The WWE fans are speculating as of when he would be back on Raw, and Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter had an update for it.

According to the veteran wrestling journalist, Samoa Joe is scheduled to return by the end of October. Around the same time, WWE Raw will host a brand exclusive PPV. The annual TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs PPV is scheduled to take place in the second last week of October which will be a perfect place for him to make a return.

The reckless image that he had left by featuring in a feud with Brock Lesnar makes him one of the biggest contenders for the Universal title. So, it will be interesting to see whether he gets another shot to it or not.
Also, the abandoned feud between Cena and the Samoan Submission Machine should finally kick-off. Ever since Joe came to the main roster, the fans were starving for it, and they should receive it, finally.
