WWE Raw is the longest running weekly television show in history. It is considered as one of the top-most TV programs all over the world. It caters as the flagship program offered by the most significant pro-wrestling promotion of the world.
Coming in January, the show will reach the landmark of the 25th year. WWE is planning to celebrate this moment by hosting it big-time. The reports from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com was the first one to let us know that Raw will celebrate its 25th anniversary in the first month of 2018. Later, it got confirmed by Stephanie McMahon on this week’s episode of WWE Raw.
The 22nd January episode will be witnessing the celebration. The episode is scheduled to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It is the same center that had hosted the Summerslam PPV for three consecutive years, and the event will be back at the same venue, next year too.
The reason behind hosting the event in New York is that the first-ever episode was also hosted by the same city. The Manhattan Center in Manhattan, NY was the first venue to host WWE Raw on January 11th, 1993. Barclays Center is just some minutes away from the venue that brought WWE Raw for the first time.
Vince McMahon was the founder of the concept to start a pro-wrestling based show to entertain the fans. It witnessed a huge fan popularity since the show used to be scripted one. It was the revolutionary idea put together by the WWE Chairman to change the course of the pro-wrestling industry, forever.
We can expect to see who’s who of the WWE superstar to appear on that night to make it an auspicious occasion. Previously, WWE had some arrangements for the 15th anniversary of the show, a decade ago. Same happened with the much-hyped Raw 1000 episode back in 2012 where we saw numerous legends appearing on the program.

Also, it is also expected that WWE will release a DVD set as part of the 25th-anniversary celebration. It will contain some of the most epic moments in the history of WWE Raw. With the Road to Wrestlemania just around the corner in January 2018, we can expect to be part of a historical night.
