Dec 14, 2017 at 2:12 PM
A couple of weeks ago, the tag team Hype Bros split up on Smackdown Live. They were I the midst of a losing spree for the last few months. At a point, the team was the number one contenders for the Smackdown tag team titles. But they did not even get the match due to Zack Ryder suffering an injury and going into a hiatus for more than six months.
He eventually made a comeback to restart from where the duo has left off. But, due to miscommunications, The Hype Bros has never been able to keep the momentum on their side. They were not even featuring on the show on a regular basis leading to frustration for Ryder’s partner, Mojo Rawley. He did not care about his partner, any more and went on to deliver an attack to him.
This incident happened on Smackdown a couple of weeks ago as the duo split up. Last week, Mojo cut a promo describing his actions that stated that he was done with Zack Ryder pulling him back from going to the top. In case you have forgotten, he is the winner of the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 33 that promises big things for the superstar, going forward.

But, aligning with Zack Ryder could not do any favour for him. So, from now onwards, he would rather go solo than competing with The Broski. Following this altercation, it was expected that a singles match might be waiting for them at Clash of Champions. In an interview on WWE.com, Zack Ryder wanted a match against Mojo at the upcoming PPV which was accepted by the recently turned heel.
Later, WWE.com made this contest official with the following quotes. It is going to be a kick-off show match,
“At WWE Clash of Champions Kickoff, Zack Ryder will battle former tag team partner Mojo Rawley in an ultra-personal showdown. See who prevails at WWE Clash of Champions Kickoff, which is streaming live tonight on the award-winning WWE Network at 7 ET/4 PT and can be seen on a free stream on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest.”
