This edition of WWE Raw was headlined with a triple threat match among the three contenders for the Universal Championship. It was held in the No Disqualification capacity which turned out to be a huge chaotic contest. Apart from this one, a number of new rivalries built up to culminate matchups at the Summerslam PPV. Here’s what went down at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania:

The show opened up with the hometown hero Kurt Angle who got a standing ovation from the crowd. After addressing the Pittsburgh crowd he added another main event match between Big Cass and Big Show to last night’s Raw. He was about to leave the ring after hyping up the night.

But, Brock Lesnar’s music hit the arena and he came out with Paul Heyman. The champion and his advocate were furious with the fact that he will have to defend his title in a fatal-4-way match. They cut a powerful promo which ended after Heyman promised that Lesnar will still remain the champion after Summerslam.

Rollins-Ambrose had a backstage segment with Sheamus & Cesaro that led to a singles contest between Rollins and Sheamus. The Architect won the match with a roll up leading frustrations to the champions. They assaulted Rollins and Ambrose throughout to deliver a massive statement prior to Summerslam.

Reigns, Strowman and Samoa Joe had an earth shattering contest among them. Strowman was on the verge to gain upper hand by hitting Reigns with steel steps. But, the latter one countered with Superman Punch and followed it with a big spear to Joe to earn the pinfall victory.

Bray Wyatt addressed his attacks on Finn Balor from recent weeks. While he was speaking to the crowd, the heartbeat music hit the arena and Balor stood right behind Wyatt. He sought redemption on the eater of the world. Balor hit a dropkick on Wyatt forcing him to run through the crowd and escape.

The Miz TV segment witnessed the expected insult from the host to the guest Jason Jordan and the Pittsburgh crowd. The environment got heated up by virtue of this leading the Miztourage coming in aid of their mentor. But, Jason hit a suplex on the Miz on his goons to put them down and leave the ring.

Bayley had a match with Nia Jax which was set up by Alexa Bliss to deliver some punishment prior to the title match. The Hugger was able to take the fight to the ringside area and shove Jax to the ring steps. This allowed her to get into the ring and defeat Jax via count out.

Elias got a match with Kalisto and defeated him with a rolling cutter. The Hardy Boyz defeated Gallows and Anderson with quite an ease and had a confrontation with The Revival, again. In the end, the Hardyz stood tall by putting them down.

In the main event of the night, Big Show locked horns with Big Cass. Enzo Amore was present by the ringside during the match and caused the disqualification after he jumped on Cass. Cass then downed Enzo with a big boot and went for the same to Big Show, as well. The latter one then hit a KO punch to Cass and put him down to close the show.
