Last Night’s WWE Raw marked the beginning of the WWE week on the USA Network. We got the last stop before the Roadblock PPV from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. The night saw a huge tag team match for the tag team title and a gorgeous debut. Plus, there were much more stored in the night.
Triple threat match for the tag team championship
The night kicked off with the anticipated match which had to determine if New Day will become the longest reigning tag team of all time. So, they squared off against Sheamus-Cesaro and Gallows-Anderson after cutting a promo. The finishing saw Sheamus hitting the brogue kick on Anderson but Kofi Kingston came out of nowhere to connect with the Trouble in Paradise and pick up the win. The New Day officially became the longest reigning tag team champions of all time. However, their celebration went horribly wrong as they opened a champaign bottle right into the eyes of Stephanie McMahon.
Braun Strowman vs. Curtis Axel
It was another squash match on Raw for the mountain of a man. Sami Zayn was seen demanding a rematch with him but Foley denied to give it. Zayn got furious with Foley’s decision and so the Raw GM said that he would talk to Daniel Bryan if a trade can be made from Raw to Smackdown.
The Rollins report with Kevin Owens
The second-ever Rollins Report was back on WWE Raw with the guest Kevin Owens. Owens came out to announce the main event of the night where the new Day will have to defend the tag team titles against the team of Jeri-KO. The two o the best friends looked on the same page again when they circled Rollins and attacked him. Roman Reigns came down to the ring to save his former Shield-brother and shove Jeri-KO off the ring.
Cruiserweight division match
The match between Lince Dorado and Ariya Daiyavari never started since the later mentioned one attacked Jack Gallagher before the bell. In the other matchup, Bryan Kendrick defeated TJ Perkins after hitting him with the Sliced Bread #2.
Bayley vs. Alicia Fox
Alicia Fox was furious with Bayley’s affectionate behavior towards his man Cedric Alexander. However, the match was short as Bayley connected with Bayley to Belly to pick up the win.
Rusev and Lana segment
The couple appeared on WWE Raw claiming that they have some exclusive footage. Last week’s hotel beatdown footage of Enzo Amore is shown on the tron. Big Cass came down to the ring to teach the Bulgarian Brute a lesson and so they started brawling outside the ring. Cass stood tall and Rusev walked away with Lana.
Was Sami Zayn traded to Smackdown?
Before we found out the answer, Zayn had a short match with Zinder Mahal which ended in a winning effort. After the match, Foley came down to the ring and said that he came to the conclusion that he would never love to lose a talent like Zayn. So, at Roadblock he would get his chance against Strowman.
Triple Threat tag team championship match- The New Day vs. Jeri-KO vs. Rollins-Reigns
Due to the attack from earlier the night, Foley made the WWE Raw main event a triple threat match. Now, the New Day retained again via a miscommunication from Jeri-KO as Rollins pulled Owens to his best friend. Then he hit the pedigree on Jericho but Big E pulled him out of the ring. Xavier Woods covered Jericho to pick up the win and retain the title, again. After the match, Jericho says that he is done with Owens. Reigns then connected with the spear on Owens and posed with the dual championships to close WWE Raw.
