Yesterday we have witnessed the 29th annual Summerslam PPV which featured some epic matches. Brock Lesnar was up against WWE’s apex predator, Randy Orton to headline the main event of the show. Also, we have got a new and first-ever WWE Universal Champion on the flagship show, WWE Raw.
With that being said, we waited for tonight’s blockbuster edition of WWE Raw with a lot of questions in mind. Will Randy Orton trespass on Raw to take revenge on Lesnar if he does show up on the show? Who will be the challenger for the brand new Universal Champion?
But, then we have been given shocking news on the start of the show. The newly crowned WWE universal champion, Finn Balor suffered a dislocated shoulder after last night’s Summerslam match against Seth Rollins. Hence he had no choice but to relinquish his title. WWE released the following statement on their official website.
“Inaugural WWE Universal Champion Finn Bálor suffered an injury to his right shoulder against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam and will relinquish his title tonight on Raw as a result, WWE.com can confirm.
The injury came in the course of Bálor and Rollins’ match to determine which Superstar would become the first WWE Universal Champion, specifically when Bálor absorbed a running powerbomb to the barricade at the hands of The Architect.”

WWE Raw General Manager, Mick Foley accepted the relinquishment of the championship belt from Balor. He has to undergo surgery and will be out of action for six months. Next week on WWE Raw, we will have a fatal-4-way match to crown a new WWE Universal Champion for the flagship show of WWE.
