The process of Superstar Shakeup started with the latest edition of Monday Night Raw as announced by Mr. McMahon, last week. A bunch of superstars announced their arrival on the flagship show from Smackdown Live.
Names like the Intercontinental champion Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, The Miz, Maryse, Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, Apollo Crews, Curt Hawkins and more shifted themselves on Raw.
The process would continue for a second night with tonight’s edition of Smackdown Live. We are expecting the voids created by the bygone superstars will be filled up by a string of superstars who will join the blue bandwagon.
WWE confirmed that following Byron Saxton’s move to Smackdown Live, David Otunga will join the announcer’s table on Monday Night Raw.
The confirmation was made on WWE’s official website stating:
“As part of the Superstar Shake-up, David Otunga will be moving from the SmackDown LIVE announce desk to Monday Night Raw, while Team Red’s Byron Saxton is heading to Team Blue. The change to both announce teams is effective immediately.
Both Otunga and Saxton have thrived on their respective teams since the 2016 WWE Brand Extension Draft, but in the spirit of “shaking things up,” they’ll be calling the action from behind different announce desks for the foreseeable future.”
Another big change might take place on tonight’s show within the announce team. Dean Ambrose ended up moving on Raw whereas his girlfriend Renee Young still belongs to the same brand.
So, it is likely that the Talking Smack host would likely join her beau, next week onwards.
Also, the Intercontinental championship is no more present on the Smackdown Live brand. So, Kevin Owens might be shifted here so that the United States championship now features on the show.
A major shakeup was given to the Raw women’s division when the veteran Mickie James and the former Smackdown women’s champion, Alexa Bliss was brought on Raw.
The women on the blue brand need to fill this gap and hence Charlotte is the most significant one who might end up getting there. She might be joined by anyone from Emma or Dana Brooke, as well.
As for the top names, Roman Reigns is the one who is highly rumoured to switch the brand. The brand exchange might give him some fresh start after the backlash that he is suffering ever since his match with the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33.
