We have got our first-ever WWE Universal Champion on the flagship show, WWE Raw in Finn Balor at Summerslam. With that being said, we waited for this week’s blockbuster edition of WWE Raw with a question in mind and that is who will be the next challenger for the brand new Universal Champion?
But, then we have been given shocking news on the start of the show. The newly crowned WWE universal champion, Finn Balor suffered a dislocated shoulder after last night’s Summerslam match against Seth Rollins. Hence he had no choice but to relinquish his title.
Hence WWE arranged a series of matches among the top superstars from Raw to pick four superstars who will go on to compete in a Fatal-4-way match, next week on WWE Raw. The match will determine the next WWE Universal Champion for the flagship show of the company. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens and Big Cass were the four superstars who qualified for the match.

It is worthy to mention since Rollins is having a strong momentum with him since his return he is the best-fitted choice to become the new champion. Also, he has been part of all the WWE championship matches since he’s been back in the WWE around May. But, the rumor mill suggests that Rollins will not become the next champion. It will be none other than Roman Reigns who is the hot favorite to win the championship match and become the next Universal Champion.
Apart from the two former Shield members, there’s Kevin Owens who is still not considered by WWE as a heavyweight champion. So, he is not expected to get his hands on the belt. As for big Cass, he has not done anything special as a singles competitor since the debut. Though, he is a strong competitor but has to achieve a lot to win championships.
