At present, Sheamus & Cesaro is getting a major push in the tag team division. The recent heel transformation earned them the spotlight they were starved for a long time. Following it, they have won a turmoil match to become the number one contenders for the tag team titles.

At the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, we were informed that they will receive the title shot against the Hardy Boyz at the Extreme Rules PPV. This will be the second Raw-exclusive PPV after Wrestlemania on June 4th. The PPV is scheduled to take place at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

But, the situation was not as good as though for Sheamus with his casual actions while performing in the ring. At the Payback PPV, Sheamus & Cesaro received their rematch for earning back the tag titles. During the match, Sheamus kicked straight to Jeff hardy’s mouth losing one of the teeth.

The topic was nurtured in the Vince Russo’s podcast, The Brand where Glenn Gilberti (also known as Disco Inferno from WCW) appeared to discuss a number of trending topics. Disco hinted that he was informed by the sources that Vince McMahon was furious with Sheamus’ actions at Payback. Here are his comments:

“There is no skill involved in kicking someone in the face for real.”

The same topic was discussed on Wrestling Observer Radio, as well. Both Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez indicated McMahon’s anger over Sheamus. Alvarez even indicated that The Boss even wanted to fire the Irishmen over the incident. But, Meltzer strongly opposed the idea considering that accident does happen considering how much physical business pro-wrestling industry is.

Sheamus would go about bragging the fact that he broke Jeff Hardy’s tooth ever since Payback passed by. The boasting went on to a different level since they backstabbed the tag team champions on the same night after coming up short in the match.

This has no connection with the backstage heat that Sheamus received at that point. It was clearly from a storyline perspective. Not only Vince McMahon but also various WWE officials were not pleased, at all by the actions. Despite the negative reactions they are walking into Extreme Rules as the favourites to win the title back.
