WWE Rumors: John Cena Coming Back In His Doctor Of Thuganomics Gimmick?
Mar 11, 2017 at 4:16 PM
Doctor of Thuganomics has been one of the most controversial gimmicks of all time, and guess who played it? The man himself; John Cena.
This is the gimmick that made Cena so popular the WWE quickly elevated him to a main eventer from a mid-card wrestler.
But the gimmick was scrapped in 2005 and since then he has been the same gimmick. In last twelve years, no changes occurred in his gimmick, neither did he ever turned heel in last 14 years.
Even though he made one appearance in 2012 as the Doctor of Thuganomics in an episode of Monday Night Raw, but that did not last long. The very next week he returned in his recent gimmick and never got a change.
John Cena is scheduled to host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award and regarding that he made this following tweet;
Is the Doctor of Thuganomics making his return?
You’ll have to watch @Nickelodeon #KCA TOMORROW NIGHT to find out! pic.twitter.com/VWvoNomlTI— John Cena (@JohnCena) March 10, 2017
It clearly indicates a future return of the much awaited Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick.
Fans are dying to see John Cena turning heel at least once since last 14 years. But deep down we all know that will never happen.
But having Cena’s Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick back can be a great thing too. Obviously, that gimmick was way more entertaining and enjoyable than his current gimmick. It was unique, it was controversial and most importantly, the WWE never tried to imply any similar gimmick on anyone else after. So, Cena is the only man who can play the gimmick in the WWE.
