Chaos ensued following Daniel Bryan’s Intercontinental Title Match announcement:
Daniel Bryan came out to the arena. He entered the ring and thanked the fans for supporting him. He said that ever since he came out after Fast Lane week after week he tried to ignore the sign of WrestleMania 31. But he could not ignore it anymore, he just could not repeat his WrestleMania moment of last year again, when the yes movement took him to the main event of WrestleMania, but that door was closed.
But when one door closed, another door got opened. Because a couple of weeks ago he was surrounded by some of the best WWE superstars fighting for the WWE Intercontinental championship and that made him think of his heroes, the people whom he used to watch when he was watching WrestleMania. He was talking about guys like ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig, Rickie Steamboat, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, they were all Intercontinental champions at WrestleMania, and they had always been more exciting than any other wrestlers in the World Heavyweight championship division. And since he was in the WWE, the Intercontinental championship was the only title that he did not win. So he officially made his name final for the Intercontinental championship ladder match at WrestleMania 31.
Intercontinental champion Bad News Barrett came out to the arena. He told that he has got some Bad News for Daniel Bryan. Since he was still the Intercontinental champion and after WrestleMania he would remain the Intercontinental champion and that would make him Bryan’s new hero.
Dolph Ziggler came out to the arena. Ziggler told Barrett that he might never be Daniel Bryan’s hero but they had different tastes so Barrett would be his hero. Barrett was the Intercontinental champion but he could not even hang on to the Intercontinental championship title, how would he retain it at WrestleMania against six other superstars as hungry as him.
Luke Harper came out now. He entered the ring and said that he wanted his WrestleMania moment. Luke Harper did not say anything as Dean Ambrose came out to the arena now. Ambrose said that if he really could wait till WrestleMania, he was always ready for a fight. He wanted to fight right now and he entered the ring in a fighting mood,
Before they could start the fight, Stardust came out to the arena. Stardust searched for the Intercontinental championship and asked everyone where it was. R Truth came out to the arena. He took out the title from a sack and asked the wrestlers inside the ring if they were looking for this. He said that he knew Barrett was the champion but he was keeping the title in his hands for safety hands.
Truth said that even though he was scared of heights, but he was going to climb the ladder at WrestleMania 31. Barrett said that he was not going to make his way that far because he would beat him down before that. R Truth told Barrett as he addressed him as Sizzle Chest, if he had the guts he wanted him to come and get the title. As Barrett attempted to go for Truth, Bryan and Ziggler attacked Barrett. All six superstars broke into a fight. Barrett, Stardust and Harper was thrown out of the ring as Ziggler, Bryan and Ambrose stood inside the ring tall. The three superstars kept looking at each other in disbelief.
The Road to WrestleMania kicked into high gear with a huge Six-Man Tag Team main event. Plus, Daniel Bryan set his sights on a new prize, Randy Orton made a huge challenge to Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns delivered The World’s Strongest Spear.
WWE’s “Yes!” Man kicked off SmackDown with a big announcement: He officially added his name to the multi-Superstar Intercontinental Title Ladder Match at WrestleMania 31, vying for a title he has yet to capture! This seemingly good news for the WWE Universe was met with bad news from the current titleholder, Bad News Barrett, who soon arrived to spoil the fun.
The Intercontinental Title was soon front and center on the best show on Thursday night as R-Truth flaunted the coveted championship on the ramp with every other participant in the upcoming contest sharing a spot inside the squared circle. Before the British champion could chase after the rapping Superstar, though, an all-out brawl broke out, with the “Yes!” Man, Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler clearing the ring of Barrett, Stardust and Luke Harper.
Tyson Kidd, Cesaro & Los Matadores def. Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & The Usos
With the tag team division wide open and The Showcase of Immortals rapidly approaching, four of WWE’s top tag teams each took turns showcasing their skills in an action-packed Eight-Man Tag Team Match. The two sides – featuring Tyson Kidd, Cesaro & Los Matadores against Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & The Usos – had issues staying on the same page as the competitive nature of each duo ended up taking precedent over teamwork.
In the end, Fernando & Diego pulled a fast one over Kingston to pick up the win, further strengthening their claim for a possible WWE Tag Team Title opportunity and building momentum on The Road to WrestleMania.
Ryback def. The Miz
The Miz battled fellow WrestleMania Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal participant Ryback in a one-on-one showdown, but without Damien Mizdow in his corner. The A-lister ordered his personal assistant – who also will be competing in the WrestleMania 31 Battle Royal – to stay backstage and attend to his assistant duties. The Awesome One could have used some help, however, as The Big Guy feasted on The Awesome One with Shell Shocked.
Mark Henry confronted Roman Reigns
No 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight championship Roman Reigns came out to the arena. Footage from last week’s Monday Night Raw was shown where Paul Heyman talked about the first Raw appearance of Brock Lesnar in a month was largely used as an opportunity for The Beast Incarnate to react, along with Paul Heyman, to a video hyping the rise of Lesnar’s No. 1 contender, Roman Reigns. That Heyman placed the hype on par with the leavings of a bull was unsurprising, especially with Lesnar standing by his side. But the degree to which Heyman predicted The Anomaly’s triumph at The Show of Shows was the most surprising: pinning Roman, tearing Seth Rollins limb from limb and putting any Montreal-like co-conspirators in their graves were all on the table. Getting his mic shut off again only kicked Heyman into overdrive. By the end of his missive, any title in the world was in play, Brock Lesnar was poised to conquer the world itself, and you could have heard a pin drop in Pittsburgh.
After the footage, Reigns said that Paul Heyman came out to the ring week after week Heyman came out and claimed that he knew Reigns and his family. But the reality was he just came out and disrespected them, he disrespected his family and he took his every opportunity to say that Reigns could not do it at WrestleMania, and there were two things could not stand was people disrespecting his family and he could not because he could, because at WrestleMania, he was going to represent his Samoan blood and he was going to win the WWE World Heavyweight championship.
Mark Henry came out to the arena. He entered the ring and he said that he was listening to him and he had to come out to him because he was acting like a comedian now. He said that just like him he did not like anyone talking about his family. But Reigns had to understand that he could not. He was Mark Henry and he was the Strongest Man in the World and that was why he could say that. He had been in the ring with Brock, Brock broke his arm, he almost killed him with the F5 on the floor. He asked if Reigns was ready for that, Henry did not think so.
Reigns tried to show respect to Henry, Henry asked if he thought Brock Lesnar respected him, if he thought the fans or wrestlers in the locker room respected him. He had to earn his respect here. Reigns attempted leave the ring, Henry stopped him. Henry pushed him back and Reigns nailed Henry with the Superman punch. As Henry went outside the ring, Reigns speared him through the barricade.
Paul Heyman’s impassioned speech on Raw was met with an equally emotional reaction from Roman Reigns on SmackDown, but it was the surprise return of Mark Henry that really got The Big Dog hot under the collar.
The World’s Strongest Man tried to tell the Samoan Superstar he can’t beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31, but the returning competitor found out the hard way that you don’t tell Reigns what he can’t do. After getting pushed by his massive detractor, WWE’s powerhouse Superstar responded by delivering a Superman Punch and Spearing Henry through the barricade.
Paige & AJ Lee def. Cameron & Summer Rae
The Bella Twins sat in with the SmackDown announce team and got a good look at their WrestleMania 31 opponents, Paige & AJ Lee – who defeated Cameron & Summer Rae after The Diva of Tomorrow made the sultry Summer tap-out to the PTO.
Tensions ran high after the contest as the dust cleared, with Nikki Bella throwing her hat at the British beauty. This resulted in Paige and the Divas Champion having to be pulled apart by their tag team partners.
Randy Orton’s venomous message
Randy Orton returned to SmackDown in an exclusive interview, unleashing some verbal venom against Seth Rollins and The Authority.
Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose & Dolph Ziggler def. Bad News Barrett, Stardust & Luke Harper
The rollercoaster ride that is the Intercontinental Title chase reached fast and furious levels in SmackDown’s Six-Man Tag Team Match main event. And amid the chaos in the contest’s final moments, Daniel Bryan tagged himself in on Dolph Ziggler and hit a Running Knee on Luke Harper to pick up the victory for his team in the battle of Ladder Match participants.
The feel-good moment would not last long, however. The Showoff and Dean Ambrose seemed to take exception to The Beard attracting all the glory during a post-match interview with Michael Cole, with both Superstars calling the “Yes!” Man a “turd.” Can the pursuit for the Intercontinental Title get any crazier?
