Jericho had his retribution on Dean Ambrose

With just two weeks away from WWE Extreme Rules, WWE Smackdown was taped this week from Des Moines, Iowa. After destroying Chris Jericho’s lightening jacket on WWE Raw, Ambrose kicked things off to cut a promo in the ring. He said how things are now even with both Mitch, the plant and Jericho’s lightening jacket gone for good. Jericho’s music hits the arena and the light went out. Upon the comeback of the light, Jericho was seen standing behind Ambrose who went straight attacking him. Jericho pulled out a straight-jacket and began beating on Ambrose but didn’t put him in it. Ambrose tried to fight back but Jericho prevailed and continued the beat down until a bunch of referees came down to stop. Jericho attacked Ambrose one last time and gloated standing on the announce table to the audience to take “The gift of Jericho.”

 

 

Rusev defeated Sin Cara

On Raw, Kalisto’s distraction helped Sin Cara to pick up a sudden win against Rusev. Rusev was seen ranting with the incidents from Raw before the start of the match. Though, on WWE Smackdown, he got his retribution courtesy, Lana. Lana threw water at the observing champion, Rusev promptly exited the ring and used the distraction to kick his Extreme Rules opponent to the floor. He came back to the ring to lock in the Accolade to Cara and picked up the win. The Bulgarian Brute closed the segment with holding the title high above in his head.

 

Dana Brooke defeated Becky Lynch

Before the start of the match, Dana Brooke was formally introduced to the main roster by Emma and this was obviously her in-ring debut on WWE Smackdown. Emma was watching her buddy’s back and thus provided with a thumb to the eye of Lynch for the distraction. That allowed her to pick up the victory via a roll-up. The match was a short one with a sudden ending which left people amused.

 

Aiden English defeated Kofi Kingston

Just ten days prior to their much-anticipated showdown between the Vaudevillains and the New Day at Extreme Rules, Aiden English went one-on-one with Kofi Kingston. In the height of the contest, the referee incidentally sent Simon Gotch and the rest of the New Day members to the locker room. English took full advantage of the chaos and picked up the victory via a roll-up with his feet on the ropes.

 

The Usos defeated Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson via disqualification

Following the mayhem that we have witnessed on Raw, AJ Styles, and Roman Reigns both were banned from ringside to bar the outside interference. In spite of The Big Dog’s absence, his high-flying cousins looked ready to reign supreme when Jimmy hit the Samoan Splash on Anderson. Gallows broke up the pin by pulling his opponents through the rope and creating an all-out brawl. The match saw disqualification ending when Gallows brought a chaos to the contest. The crowd was really into the match till this happened and Gallows and Anderson stood tall with a chair in hand after delivering a beat down to the Usos.

 

The Gorgeous Truth def. GolDango

R-Truth and Goldust were standing toe-to-toe to get into a fight in the tag team actions but to the surprise of the WWE Universe, they decided to tag their respective partners and not to fight each other. Tyler Breeze got frustrated and shove Truth off the ring whereas Fandango too suddenly attacked his partner which allowed the Prince pretty to pick up the win. A vicious assault was delivered to Golden Truth by Breeze and Fandango which left them laying in the ring.

 

Kevin Owens & The Miz def. Cesaro & Sami Zayn

In the midst of the high dramatic tag team main event on WWE Smackdown, Sami Zayn missed the Helluva Kick on target and accidentally hit it to his own partner Cesaro. Miz took out Zayn out of the ring taking advantage of the distraction and KO delivered a frog splash to Cesaro for the win. Actions continued after the bell as the A-lister assaulted Zayn after the match. When Owens looked to join the assault on his old friend, Miz turned on him and hit with the Skull crushing finale to close WWE Smackdown.
