Chris Jericho hosted The Highlight Reel

On Sunday, we could have the best ever Money in the Bank pay-per-view with some Wrestlemania worthy matchups. Meanwhile before that, we had our final halt for the event on WWE Smackdown and it came our way from MISSISSIPPI COAST COLISEUM BILOXI, MS and it kicked off with Chris Jericho hosting the Highlight Reel and his guest was none other than the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose. As it was expected the rest of the six participants of the Money in the Bank ladder match i.e. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro interrupted one by one to join the show to brag about their own rights for the briefcase. The huge brawl between them set up the night’s six-man tag team match for the main event.

Kofi Kingston def. Big Cass, Luke Gallows and Aiden English

It was an interesting concept to pick one individual from each team and put them into a fatal-4 way match. Kofi got a huge win as a singles competitor, to say the least considering the strong booking of Gallows, Enzo, and Cass in the recent weeks. In the midst of an unleashed brawl inside the ring, Kofi Kingston connected with the Trouble in Paradise to Aiden English and picked the momentum for the tag champs for Sunday. Though, there are chances for every team for the gold on Sunday.

Baron Corbin def. Zack Ryder

Dolph Ziggler was present at the commentary but that did not stop Corbin from getting an expected win. Though, an aggressive Ryder gave a tough fight to Corbin and made it a war in the ring. Despite all the efforts made by the former Intercontinental champion, Corbin blasted him with an End of Days to pick up the win. A stare-down between Ziggler and Corbin ended the segment as they are waiting for another installment of their clash at the Money in the Bank kickoff show.

Kalisto vs. Rusev (No Contest)

After attacking his championship’s number 1 contender Titus O’Neil on Raw, United States Champion Rusev was scheduled to face Kalisto on SmackDown. But as the former US champion was leaping into the ring the Bulgarian Brute caught him mid-air and attacked him brutally even before the bell rang. Rusev was on fire and when Sin Cara emerged to help his friend he was decimated too. Titus O’Neil emerged to enter the fray he proceeded to unleash the payback from Raw with an onslaught on the titleholder.

AJ Styles def. Xavier Woods

Due to a backstage confrontation between the Club and the New Day, AJ Styles decided to go one-on-one against Xavier Woods on WWE Smackdown. This was a fresh match up and Styles gained the momentum for the historic match on Sunday. Rather than going for the Styles Clash, AJ decided to give Cena a strong message and made Woods tap out with the Calf Crusher.

Charlotte def. Natalya

With the Dirty games inside and outside the ring, Charlotte prevailed to pick up the win on WWE Smackdown. Her ally Dana tried to distract Natalya in the match and Becky went right after her to create a huge brawl outside the arena. Meanwhile, she left the Women’s championship in the ring and the champion took the fullest advantage of it by throwing it into the feet of Natalya. When the referee went to get the title out of the ring, Charlotte attacked and locked Natalya in the Figure-Eight Leg-lock to make her tap out.

Dean Ambrose, Cesaro & Sami Zayn def. Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio & Kevin Owens in a Six-Man Tag Team Match

As seen on Raw this past week, the heels can’t get along and thus resulted in an utter chaos in the main event of WWE Smackdown. Also, it showed how chaotic it is going to be on Sunday at Money in the Bank. Kevin Owens doesn’t like to be tagged into the action but Del Rio tagged in KO without his consent and ate a superkick. Owens also super-kicked Jericho intentionally in the face before Ambrose planted him with the Dirty Deeds. It is going to be an epic battle for the briefcase on Sunday, to say the least.
