WWE Smackdown was taped this week from Rockford, Illinois. The New Day kicked off the show to cut a promo and got interrupted by The Club. The New Day was in the serious mood after getting brutally attacked on Raw, this past Monday. So they took their time to address Gallows and Anderson and the superstars came down the ramp. The Club pointed out that they have their sight set on the tag team titles. AJ Styles clarified that WWE now belongs to the Club. In a heated confrontation, Smackdown’s main event was decided as Kofi would go one-on-one with AJ Styles.

Becky Lynch def. Charlotte via disqualification
WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte and Becky Lynch have gone into wars in the past, many times. But the difference is now that now instead of Ric Flair, Dana Brooke is standing in the corner of the champion. She made her presence felt as she saved the champion from The Irish Lass Kicker’s Dis-Arm-Her submission maneuver, causing the disqualification. This would create a two-on-two brawl as Natalya was present for Becky at ringside. Nattie and Becky stood tall to end the segment.
Dudley Boyz def. Golden Truth
Tyler Breeze and Fandango was present at the ringside, who created the distraction to hand over the Dudleyz a win and the problem continues for the Golden Truth. Tyler Breeze attempted to take a selfie in between the match to cause the distraction. Though Truth shoved him away, but it was enough for the veteran D-Von Dudley to take full advantage to roll up Goldust and pick up the win.
Dean Ambrose/Sami Zayn def. Kevin Owens/Alberto Del Rio
On the height of actions that we witnessed on Monday Night Raw, we had in store another tag team action with the participants who will be involved in the Money in the Bank ladder match and once again the faces stood over the heels. Del Rio and Kevin Owens fell apart at the end of the match when the Essence of Excellence hit KO with an Enzi GUI Ri, by mistake. Zayn capitalized on it and delivered the Helluva Kick for the win. An irritated Owens dragged a ladder into the ring to give a preview of what’s going to happen at Money in the Bank. Cesaro pushed Owens from the ring and climbed the ladder to grab the MITB briefcase.
United States Champion Rusev def. Jack Swagger
Before even the match started, Rusev attacked Swagger to shove him off on the apron. Despite the pre-match assault, Swagger fought valiantly in the contest. Unfortunately, the Accolade proved too much for the real American as the referee called for the bell. The hold was locked in even after the bell rang. As expected, Titus O’Neil came out to make the save and made the Russian running away.
AJ Styles def. Kofi Kingston
With the rest of The New Day and The Club watching at ringside, WWE SmackDown’s main event saw a rare main event between Kofi Kingston and AJ Styles. Two of the highly athletic superstars collided and the showdown was worth a watch until all hell broke loose outside the ring between Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Xavier Woods and Big E. Kingston. Kingston took out Gallows but caught in a pele kick after getting back into the ring. The Phenomenal One the sealed the victory with his pendant Styles Clash.
