WWE Smackdown Live Preview: January 24, 2017

Tuesday’s edition of Smackdown Live will take place at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. The blue bandwagon will continue rolling with the audience already anticipating more every week. This week, we will be eager to hear from the returning Mickie James whereas John Cena will be set to make one final statement to AJ Styles. Plus, an interesting match-up is in store as Randy Orton will square off against his own Wyatt brethren, Luke Harper. So, here’s what we can expect from Tuesday night’s show:

John Cena’s quest for his 16th world title

It will be indeed an auspicious moment for John Cena when he will go toe-to-toe against AJ Styles to claim his record 16th world title. The man with ‘hustle, loyalty and respect’ is on a roll from the past couple of weeks and will like to keep it going till this Sunday. So, this might be the very last on Smackdown when we see Styles with the championship around his waist.

What will Mickie James offer for her betrayal?

Mike James returning to Smackdown was just a matter of time and that eventually took place, last week. The former women’s champion was not done only by costing Becky the championship opportunity. She continued blasting the Irish Lass-kicker on twitter claiming that she is back and picked up a rivalry with the ‘straight fire’. On Tuesday, we expect to see Mickie giving an explanation on why she is targeting Becky and not anyone else. Furthermore, another title match between Becky and Alexa might be announced for the Royal Rumble PPV.

Will Natalya and Nikki Bella be given a No-DQ match?

The rivalry between the Queen of Harts and the Bella Queen has gone to a completely different level. It is so much personal that a singles match cannot be a solution for them. A match with a No-DQ or Falls Count Anywhere stipulation is ideal. Since this week WWE would be busy hyping up the Rumble event, we might get the match officially announced for next week. Furthermore, with this match, both these veterans can be brought to the championship picture as well.

Randy Orton to square off against Luke Harper

Last week, Bray Wyatt made an interesting match between Orton and Harper so that they can settle their differences before going into the Rumble match. We know that things will not go down like planned by the Eater of the World as these two will continue with their conflicts before Orton finally goes against his leader during the Wrestlemania season. On Tuesday, we will go one step closer to that as the Viper should pick up a victory against his partner from the Wyatt family.

Royal Rumble match

Multiple storylines will be on hold due to the Royal Rumble PPV. The interesting storyline between the Miz and Dean Ambrose might not progress as both of them will like to make bold statements heading into the Royal Rumble match. Same can be said for Dolph Ziggler as well, before he gets his next opponent.
