The first episode of Smackdown Live took place at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. After ending 2016 on a big note, we already knew the main event for the night will be contested between Miz and Dean Ambrose for the IC title. A match between Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin was also announced. Furthermore, the contract signing for the WWE championship was also announced for the night. So, here’re the results from last night’s episode.

The Miz & Maryse kicked off the night

Smackdown kicked off with the A-lister as the commentators mentioned that how he owned the year 2016 and will kick off 2017 with a title match later on that night. The Miz Yelled out of how Ambrose was given a title shot all of a sudden. Then he called out Renee Young for slapping him two weeks ago. But Ambrose headed towards the ring and Miz quickly got down from there. Maryse went to the Lunatic’s face and slapped as hard as she could. Ambrose finished off saying that at least Maryse can hit harder than her husband.
