Smackdown is certainly doing a better job than Raw to promote WrestleMania and building up their feuds. Andre the giant battle royal would be the only inter promotional match of this year’s WrestleMania, and Smackdown is the only brand which is promoting it. In Raw, there is not even any mention of this match either this week.
So what to expect from this week’s Smackdown? Most of the Smackdown matches are set for WrestleMania with one more match to be added on card; the Intercontinental championship. We are expecting this match will get booked by this week’s episode of Smackdown. Two weeks ago, Baron Corbin attacked Dean Ambrose which gave him a kayfabe injury and took him out of action last week. We hope Ambrose returns this week to promote their match at WrestleMania.
Bray Wyatt’s resurrection last week was criticized by critics but we think it was a cool stuff. His promo and everything was good. But it will only be cool when Bray will have some minor changes in his gimmick; like he is serious man now, he does not laugh all the time as he used to before, he looks more angry, these changes would make things relevant and a change of personality under the same gimmick before his match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania would pump up things even more.
Smackdown is building up their Women’s championship match really well. The match was announced two weeks ago, and it was said that all Smackdown women will be in the match. On the first week, there were four women, last week Carmela was put into the picture. In these two final weeks before WrestleMania, we are expecting to see more two athletes joining the match, one gets involved this week, and the other one gets involved next week, one of them potentially being Eva Marie.
The most anticipated promo war of this week would be John Cena and Miz’s mic fight that we expect to see almost every week. Two of the best mic workers of WWE in a feud gives you one thing for sure; that is some cool promo war. The feud is nothing special in other terms, fans keep criticizing it all the time, but they are promos are really kick ass and we hope to see some more cool promos by this week too.
The most anticipated thing for week’s show is the progress of Shane McMahon – AJ Styles feud. Last week AJ Styles attacked Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan fired him. At the end of the show, Shane McMahon announced that there will be an opponent for WrestleMania. We just cannot wait to see how they build up feud through this week.
