WWE Smackdown spoilers: April 28, 2016

WWE Smackdown was taped this week from Manchester, New Hampshire. It kicked off like the previous weeks with The Miz being in the ring with his lovely wife Maryse by his side. A confrontation happened between the Intercontinental champion and the WWE world heavyweight champion Roman Reigns. As expected, the segment broke out into a brawl with Reigns sending Miz to outside the ring. Miz tried to attack Reigns from behind but get tossed after the short brawl which set up the main event for the night between the two of them on WWE Smackdown.

Sami Zayn, Kalisto, and Cesaro def. the League of Nations
It was a classic team heel vs. team face battle all in all which saw the faces win the contest after the heels started fighting against each other and leave the arena one after another. Backstage, the arguing continues and it was confirmed that the League of Nations would be no more when Sheamus declared that he did not need his brethren anymore.

Next, it’s announced that Charlotte would appear on the Ambrose Asylum along with her Payback opponent Natalya.

Baron Corbin def. Damien Sandow
This match was originally scheduled for Monday Night Raw but never happened due to the vicious payback from Dolph Ziggler. Sandow returned to WWE Smackdown after a long time to get a good pop from the crowd but that was it for him. The match was not long enough a Corbin squashed Sandow with his pendant move.

Ambrose Asylum with Charlotte and Natalya
The WWE Women’s champion Charlotte with Ric Flair and Natalya joined the Lunatic Fringe for his brand new talk show. The segment was good but it ended when Flair told Nattie to kill herself. Now, this one will surely not make it to the final cut considering WWE Smackdown is a PG show.

Enzo/Big Cass def. The Social Outcasts
The match saw a noisy experience. First, the New Day came out to be the guest commentators who made Byron Saxton sitting on the floor. Then the Vaudevillains came out to the stage area to watch the match. The battle was between two teams with solid microphone skills as the newest tag team in WWE defeated the social outcasts.

Apollo Crews def. Stardust
These two put on a solid match after their first encounter on WWE Raw and as expected, Crews overcame the dark prince.

Roman Reigns def. The Miz
Two current champions squared off inside the ring in a non-title capacity. As expected, the interferences from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson came but The Usos came in to even the odds. Reigns picked up the victory in the end. The WWE championship feud is well built for Payback and especially after the duo of Gallows and Anderson was brought into the mix.
