This week’s WWE Smackdown was taped from Des Moines, Iowa. We kicked things off with Dean Ambrose in the ring to cut a promo. He said how things are now even with both Mitch, the plant and Jericho’s lightening jacket both are now gone. Jericho’s music hits the arena and the light went out. Upon the light’s come back we discover Jericho is already standing behind Dean and started attacking immediately. Jericho pulled out a straight-jacket and began beating on Ambrose but didn’t put him in it. Ambrose tried to fight back but Jericho prevailed and continued the beat down until a bunch of referees came down to stop. Jericho attacked Ambrose one last time and gloated standing on the announce table to the audience as to take “The gift of Jericho.”
Rusev defeated Sin Cara
Before the start of the match, Rusev was seen ranting with the incidents from Raw. Though, on WWE Smackdown, he got retribution with some help from Lana. Kalisto this time too, was present at ringside but Lana threw water on him to distract Cara. Rusev went outside, kicked Kalisto in the back of the head and went back in to finish Cara locking in the accolade. Rusev left with both the Lucha Dragons lying n their back.
Dana Brooke defeated Becky Lynch
Before the start of the match, Dana Brooke was formally introduced to the main roster by Emma and this was obviously her in-ring debut in on WWE Smackdown. Dana came with Emma’s music playing and a distraction from Emma allowed her to pick up the victory via a roll-up. The match was a short one with a sudden ending.
Aiden English defeated Kofi Kingston
Kofi started with the upper-hand but English took control of the match by a distraction from Simon Gotch. Gotch tried to interfere for the second time causing him and Big E and Woods to head back to the locker room. English took full advantage of the chaos and picked up the victory with help from the rope.
The Usos defeated Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson via disqualification
The match saw disqualification ending when allows brought a chaos to the contest. The crowd was really into the match till this happened and Gallows and Anderson stood tall with a chair in hand after delivering a beat down to the Usos.
R-Truth and Tyler Breeze defeated Fandango and Goldust
A bizarre match overall as we saw Truth and Goldust in the ring but they would not fight each other and thus leaving the match to the rest of the two. But their respective partners betrayed them after gorgeous truth picked up the win and delivered a beatdown to left them laying in the ring as they left after the match.
Sami Zayn & Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens & The Miz
The match ended in a no contest after a miscommunication between Sami and Cesaro, and that leads to Miz and Owens end up attacking them before attacking each other. The show ended after Owens left Miz high and dry in the ring and Sami and Cesaro both laying him out.
