Summerslam saw an epic championship match from Smackdown. After a hard-fought battle, the show-off Dolph Ziggler failed to capture the WWE World Heavyweight championship from the reigning champion, Dean Ambrose. So, the question before the start of Tuesday’s hottest show was who is going to be the next challenger for Ambrose’s title.
Also, the main event of Summerslam starred Randy Orton from Smackdown against the beast, Brock Lesnar. The finishing was a bloody mess. Randy, later had to receive 10 stitches from the doctors after being taken to the backstage. Even, Shane McMahon was not spared. He had to digest a vicious F-5 from the beast. So, it looked like we still have plenty of fall-outs left in the whole story as we now head towards the first-ever brand specific PPV of Smackdown, Backlash.
With that being said, we have got huge news at the beginning of the show as the blue brand came up with a new set of titles for their division. The show kicked off with the tag team division and the Women’s division standing in the ring. Smackdown finally gets to match up with the flagship show as they decided to unveil the new tag team titles and the Women’s championship for the show.
The new Women’s championship will be decided via a six pack challenge at the returning Backlash PPV on September 11. In the case of the tag titles, the two teams that will square off for the titles will be decided via a tournament that is starting on the show.
After the announcement, AJ styles came up to the ring to confront Shane McMahon but got ambushed by Ziggler from behind. A huge brawl breaks out outside the ring with the tag division participating in it.
