‘Resign From Captaincy’: Twitter Blasts Rishabh Pant For Captaincy Blunder As Delhi Capitals Bow Out Of IPL 2022

Pressure got the better of Rishabh Pant when his team needed him at his absolute best as a captain. On Saturday, Delhi Capitals were up against Mumbai Indians in a do-or-die clash. A win would have been enough for Delhi to progress to the playoffs. However, Pant failed to guide his troops over the winning line. Pant made a huge blunder as a captain that really played a big role in Delhi’s crushing five-wicket loss at the hands of the five-time champions.

Chasing 160, Mumbai were in all sorts of trouble in the 15th over when they were reduced to 95 for 3. The Mumbai batsmen were struggling to score runs at a good pace and Delhi were looking set to clinch the clash. However, the game took a huge turn in that same over when Pant decided against taking a review. On his very first ball of the innings, Tim David edged the ball behind the stumps. Delhi players appealed for caught behind but the on-field umpire gave his decision in the favour of the batsman.

With two reviews left, taking a review at that stage of the game looked like the best option. Pant, however, decided against it only to realise it soon that he was wrong. Pant was seen shaking his head in disappointment after the replays on the giant screen confirmed that David had indeed edged the ball. David then went on to play a match-winning cameo. The hard-hitting batsman slammed 34 off just 11 balls with the help of 2 fours and 4 sixes to completely change the course of the game.

He also shared a 50-run stand off just 20 balls with Tilak Verma as Delhi paid a huge price for their captain’s blunder. By the time Delhi managed to dismiss David, the equation was down to 15 off 14 balls before Ramandeep Singh finished the job for Mumbai on the first ball of the 20th over.

Rishabh Pant slammed on social media:

Rishabh Pant has been facing severe criticism for his captaincy blunder against Mumbai Indians. Fans and experts have slammed the young captain for his decision to not review the umpire’s decision. While some just criticised him for his blunder, few fans went as far as saying that he should be sacked as Delhi’s captain. Some angry fans even suggested that Pant should never be considered for a captaincy role in the Indian team.

Here are some of the reactions to Rishabh Pant’s blunder:

Delighted Virat Kohli Taunts Delhi Capitals After Their Loss Confirms Playoffs Spot For RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Virat Kohli came up with a hilarious tweet, seemingly taunting Delhi Capitals following their loss to Mumbai Indians on Saturday (May 21). Delhi Capitals had their fate in their own hands when they took the field to play their final league game of IPL 2022. A win would have been enough for them to cruise to the playoffs. However, the Rishabh Pant-led side failed to deliver in the must-win clash and suffered a five-wicket loss.

And following Delhi’s loss, RCB have progressed to the playoffs of the ongoing season. RCB needed a favour from Mumbai Indians for a place in the playoffs and they got one from the five-time champions. Asked to bat first, Delhi scored a challenging total of 159 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. At one stage, they were reeling at 50 for 4 before a 75-run stand between captain Rishabh Pant and Rovman Powell steadied the ship.

Both the set batsmen, however, departed at precarious stages and Delhi could not get the finish they would have liked. In reply, Mumbai Indians made a slow start but a fine cameo from Tim David put them in command of the chase. The Australian batsman slammed 34 runs off just 11 balls to crush Delhi’s hopes. Opener Ishan Kishan (43) and Dewald Brevis (34) also played crucial knocks as Mumbai Indians bowed out of the tournament on a winning note.

Virat Kohli’s reaction after Mumbai Indians’ win:

Soon after Mumbai Indians’ win against Delhi Capitals, RCB superstar Virat Kohli posted a couple of tweets to rub more salt to Rishabh Pant and his teammates’ wound. In his first tweet, he thanked Mumbai Indians by posting a handshake emoji while tagging the franchise. Soon after that, he posted another tweet in which he, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell were seen sticking their tongues out in delight as if they were teasing Delhi Capitals after the loss.

RCB will now lock horns against Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator on . A loss will see them bow out of the tournament while a win will see them make it to the second Qualifier where they will play against the winner of first Qualifier for a place in the final. Virat Kohli and RCB are eyeing their first-ever title. They are also looking to make it to the IPL final for the first time since 2016. The Bangalore-based outfit will be desperate to go all the way this season after losing three finals in the past.

Prithvi Shaw Returns To Team After Recovering From Typhoid, Confirm Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw has rejoined the team after recovering from typhoid, the franchise confirmed on Sunday (May 15). The right-handed batsman has not played for the franchise since May 1 when Delhi Capitals were up against Lucknow Super Giants. Shaw then went on to miss the following three games for Delhi Capitals as he was admitted to a hospital on Sunday due to high fever. Later, he had shared an Instagram post from his hospital bed, saying he was hopeful of coming back soon.

Earlier this week Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach Shane Watson stated the young batsman is unlikely to return to action for the remainder of IPL 2022. However, the franchise has confirmed that the batsman has made a quick recovery and has rejoined the team. Delhi Capitals also confirmed that the batsman was indeed suffering from typhoid. Shaw has returned to the team hotel and is currently being monitored by the franchise’s medical team.

“Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw has been discharged from the hospital where he was being treated for a bout of typhoid. Shaw has returned to the team hotel where he is currently recuperating, while being monitored by the DC medical team,” stated the franchise.

Shaw’s return will be a big boost for Delhi Capitals as they eye a place in the playoffs. They are currently at the fifth spot in the points with 6 wins from 12 games. If Delhi manage to win their remaining two games, they will be in a good position for a place in the next stage. Talking about Shaw’s performance this season, he has scored 259 runs in nine games at an average of 28.77 and a strike rate of 159.87, with two fifties.

He has formed a formidable partnership with David Warner at the top of the order. In Shaw’s absence, Delhi Capitals paired Warner with Mandeep Singh and Srikar Bharat but the duo failed to deliver. Mandeep was out for a duck against Sunrisers Hyderabad and was dropped after that game. In the following two games, Bharat registered scores of 19 and 0.

IPL 2022: Prithvi Shaw Beats Typhoid, All Set To Rejoin Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals’ opener Prithvi Shaw’s availability saga in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) has taken yet another unexpected turn. The right-handed batsman is now reportedly set to rejoin the Delhi Capitals for the rest of the tournament. Shaw last played on May 1 against Lucknow Super Giants, and has missed the team’s last three games. He was admitted to a hospital on Sunday due to high fever. Later, he had shared an Instagram post from his hospital bed, saying he was hopeful of coming back soon.

The youngster had said that he was recovering from well. The franchise was not giving a clear update on Shaw’s health but earlier this week captain Rishabh Pant had said that his teammate was with typhoid. Later, Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach Shane Watson had all but ruled out Shaw’s chances of playing anymore in IPL 2022.

“It’s not looking great. I don’t know exactly his diagnosis but he’s had this underlying fever for the last two weeks now which they have to really get to the bottom of to find out exactly what it was. I don’t know exactly what the diagnosis is but it’s not looking great for him to be available for us for the last few games,” Watson told the Grade Cricketer Podcast.

Prithvi Shaw set to return:

Prithvi Shaw, however, is not all set to be available for Delhi Capitals for the crucial phase of the competition. According to a report in The Times of India, Shaw has recovered after being severely ill. The news outlet quoted a source as saying that Shaw is likely to be available for selection when Delhi Capitals take the field again. Delhi’s next game is against Punjab Kings on Monday (May 16).

“When they play their next game against the Punjab Kings on Monday evening, Shaw is very likely to be available,” the source said.

Shaw’s availability will be a huge boost for Delhi as they look to win their remaining league games in order to make it to the playoffs. They are currently at the fifth spot in the points with 6 wins from 12 games. Talking about Shaw’s performance this season, he has scored 259 runs in nine games at an average of 28.77 and a strike rate of 159.87, with two fifties.

Prithvi Shaw Ruled Out Of IPL 2022, Confirms Delhi Capitals Coach Ricky Ponting

At a time when Delhi Capitals would have wanted all their star players to be fit and available, they have suffered a big injury blow. Their star opener Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). The news has been confirmed by none other than Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting. The right-handed batsman has missed Delhi Capitals’ last three matches and was admitted to a hospital on Sunday due to high fever.

With the franchise not giving any clear update on Shaw, there was little clarity on his health and availability for the tournament. Speaking at the toss on Wednesday (May 11), Delhi captain Rishabh Pant also failed to provide a clear update. The wicketkeeper-batsman was not sure of Shaw’s health and later revealed in the post-match presentation that his teammate could be suffering from typhoid.

“We miss him but we can’t control that. He has typhoid or something, like that is what the doctor told me,” Pant said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Prithvi Shaw

However, Ponting has confirmed that Shaw’s campaign in the ongoing tournament has come to an end. Just a couple of days ago, Shaw had put up a story on his Instagram handle, giving an update on his health. In the picture, he was on a hospital bed and revealed that he was recovering well.

However, it looks like he would not be able to recover in time to play for Delhi again in IPL 2022. Ponting has pretty much confirmed that the young opener would not take any further part in the competition. Ponting was talking to the commentators during the game against Rajasthan Royals when he confirmed the news about Shaw.

Delhi Capitals keep playoff hopes alive:

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have kept their playoff hopes alive with a thumping win over Rajasthan Royals. After restricting the Royals to 160, Delhi chased down the total in 18.1 overs by losing just two wickets. Shaun Marsh (89) and David Warner (52*) were the star with the bat for Delhi. The duo shared a decisive 144-run stand for the second wicket. Delhi are currently at the fifth spot in the points table with 6 wins from 12 games.

Aakash Chopra Reckons Delhi Capitals Will Find It Hard To Field 4 Overseas Players In The First Half Of IPL 2022

Aakash Chopra has said that the Delhi Capitals will be hard-pressed to field four quality overseas players in the first few games of IPL 2022.

The Delhi Capitals have only seven foreign players in their 24-member contingent for the upcoming season of the IPL. Moreover, the likes of Anrich Nortje, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh are unlikely to be available for the franchise at the start of the tournament.

Aakash Chopra Surprised At Delhi Capitals Picking Only 7 Overseas Players At IPL 2022 Mega Auctions

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra pointed out the Delhi Capitals’ predicament in fielding four overseas players in the first few games of IPL 2022.

He observed: “Surprise surprise, you have only seven overseas players. When you could have taken eight, why didn’t you? I didn’t understand this stinginess at all because you already had seven and if Nortje doesn’t come, it becomes six. Two or three of the six are not available, so what will you do for the first match? You don’t have players at all, you are down to absolutely nothing.”

Anrich Nortje
Anrich Nortje (Image Credit: Twitter)

The cricketer-turned-commentator reckons the Delhi Capitals’ decision to retain Proteas pacer Anrich Nortje was probably an unwise move.

He reasoned: “You had retained four players, which also included Anrich Nortje. When you retained him, the talk was already going on about his hip surgery. He has not played cricket at all after that. That is the gamble that you took.”

Aakash Chopra added that Delhi Capitals had opted to retain Anrich Nortje ahead of his South African teammate Kagiso Rabada.

He elaborated: “You let Kagiso Rabada go; you thought you will get someone else, and Anrich Nortje will come. But Anrich Nortje in all likelihood is not going to come. He is not available as of now, has not played anything for South Africa for the last six months. So what will happen to Anrich Nortje; it’s a big question.”

Anrich Nortje has apparently joined Delhi Capitals’ squad in Mumbai. However, there is no clarity on if he will be able to take the field in IPL 2022.

Aakash Chopra Stressed Both Mitchell Marsh And David Warner May Not Be Available At Start Of IPL 2022

Aakash Chopra pointed out that David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, who are part of the Australian team touring Pakistan, will also miss the first few games. David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, the MOS of the 2021 T20I World Cup and MOM of the final, respectively, are expected to make up for the lack of firepower due to the loss of Shikhar Dhawan, Shimron Hetmyer and Marcus Stoinis.

He said: “You let Shikhar Dhawan go and got David Warner; I will say thumbs up with both hands. You let Marcus Stoinis go and got Mitchell Marsh, once again thumbs up with both hands. But Mitchell Marsh and David Warner are not available at the start. They are going to miss the first three matches.”

While praising the acquisition of West Indies’ hard-hitting batter Rovman Powell, the 44-year-old highlighted that Mitchell Marsh’s bowling fitness is always a question mark.

Aakash Chopra observed: “Forget you and me, even Ricky Ponting doesn’t know properly about Mitchell Marsh’s bowling; he leaves after getting injured. You did a good job by picking Rovman Powell, as Shimron Hetmyer left.”

The Delhi Capitals, much like Mumbai Indians, were hit hard by the IPL 2022 mega auction. They had to release some of their tried-and-tested players, who were acquired by other teams in the draft or at the auction.

The bowling attack which wore an ominous look in IPL 2020/2021 with Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel and Avesh Khan had been disturbed. Bowlers Shardul Thakur, Mustafizur Rahman, Khaleel Ahmed, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kuldeep Yadav and Lungi Ngidi will assume leadership roles with their variations to complement Anrich Nortje and Axar Patel.

Delhi Capitals Team Bus Vandalised By Miscreants; FIR Lodged

Delhi Capitals team bus was allegedly attacked by miscreants in Mumbai as the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 had the first share of controversy.

The Mumbai Police on Wednesday (March 16) registered an FIR against unidentified persons for damaging the parked team bus of the Delhi-based franchise. Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) party workers attacked and vandalised a bus that was being used in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Tuesday night. The vandalised vehicle was to be used as a team bus by Delhi Capitals.

An FIR has been registered against 5-6 unknown persons under sections 143,147,149,427 of IPC. The attack was carried out by Maharashtra Vahatuk Sena – transport wing of MNS – for allegedly ignoring local bus traders. MNS workers were irked as the contract to pick up and drop IPL players were not given to a local trader.

Delhi Capitals players are arriving in Mumbai to begin their preparations for the upcoming IPL 2022, starting March 26. Delhi Capitals are being led by young India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. The team’s opening game will be held against five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians on March 27 at Brabourne Stadium.

“An FIR has been registered against 5-6 unknown persons under sections 143,147,149,427 of IPC for allegedly attacking the Delhi Capital IPL team parked bus,” police said.

Earlier on Tuesday (March 15), Delhi Capitals’ Head Coach Ricky Ponting and Bowling Coach James Hopes assembled at the team hotel in Mumbai. The coaches will undergo a mandatory 3-day quarantine before stepping out of their rooms.

Shane Watson Expressed Excitement To Work Alongside Ricky Ponting

The franchise also announced appointing former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson as their new Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. The 40-year-old joins the DC coaching staff comprising head coach Ricky Ponting, assistant coaches Pravin Amre and Ajit Agarkar and bowling coach James Hopes.

On his appointment, Watson said, “The IPL, the best T20 tournament in the world. I’ve got incredible memories as a player, first of all with Rajasthan Royals winning it in 2008, led by the incredible man Shane Warne, RCB and then CSK. I’ve got incredible memories as a player, and now coaching opportunities.

“It’s come to be able to work under the great Ricky Ponting. He was an amazing leader as a captain, and now to be able to coach under him. He is one of the best coaches in the world now. So, for me to be able to learn the ropes under Ricky, I am really excited.”

“With Delhi Capitals, they got great squad, now is the time to win their first title. I am super pumped to get over there, work with the boys, help them out as much as I can and hopefully, we can win the first title. Can’t wait to get over there,” he added.

Considered one of the best all-rounders in white-ball cricket, Shane Watson has been a part of two of Australia’s World Cup-winning campaigns in the 50 over format – in 2007 & 2015. At the 2012 T20 World Cup, he was named Player of the Tournament. Having represented his country in 190 ODIs and 58 T20Is, Shane Watson has over 7000 runs, and more than 200 wickets to his name in limited-overs cricket.

Shane Watson represented Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Shane Watson amassed 1490 runs in 140 IPL games averaging 22.57 and took 153 scalps averaging 24.81. Delhi Capitals squad boosts of some experienced cricketers like Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Shardul Thakur, Mustafizur Rahman, and Kuldeep Yadav to name a few.

Yash Dhull’s Father Revealed Reason For Delhi Capitals Going After The 2022 Under-19 World Cup Winning Skipper

Yash Dhull, Under-19 World Cup-winning skipper’s father revealed why Delhi Capitals went after the teenager and got him at the IPL 2022 mega auction. Yash Dhull was roped in by the IPL 2020 finalists for INR 50 Lakh. After leading India to their 5th U-19 title, the youngster scored twin centuries on his Ranji Trophy debut.

It has been a dream month for India’s U-19 World Cup-winning captain, whose stocks have risen substantially since he led the Men in Blue to their record fifth title in the youth tournament. A week later, he was up at the IPL 2022 mega auction where the two Northern franchises went after him but eventually, the Delhi Capitals got him for INR 50 Lakh.

Yash Dhull Was Already Associated With Delhi Capitals Academy So It Wasn’t Unexpected That He Would Be Picked By Delhi Capitals At IPL 2022 Auctions: Father

In the 2022 ICC U19 World Cup, Yash Dhull amassed 229 from four matches at an average of 76.33, he scored a match-winning 110 against Australia U19 in the semi-final.
However, it wasn’t a surprise for Yash Dhull and his family that the Delhi Capitals bid for him and eventually signed him as his father expected this to happen.
Vijay Dhull, father of the 19-year old said that Yash Dhull has been associated with the Delhi franchise for the last 7 years as part of their Academy in Dwarka so the result at the auction was an expected one.

“When you register for the auctions and as a player when you are going under the hammer, it is not your choice, and beyond your control as to which side would pick you.
“But with Yash already being associated with Delhi Capitals Academy at Bal Bhavan, Dwarka for a long time now, where he had practiced for the last seven-eight years, we had already expected that he would most likely be picked by Delhi Capitals,” said Yash Dhull’s father.
In the high-bidding war of the cash-rich league, the young batter was picked by Delhi Capitals (DC) for Rs. 50 Lakhs. Yash Dhull, who had registered in the IPL 2022 for a base price of Rs 20 Lakhs, gathered sound interest from Punjab Kings (PBKS) as well but was finally absorbed by his home side.

Vijay Dhull: Yash Dhull Was Happy About Being Picked By Delhi Capitals

Vijay Dhull also admitted that playing for your state-based franchise in the IPL helps the youngsters play with more motivation as they feel comfortable in the environment.
“Also, I feel that if the local boys get to play and represent their state-based franchise in the IPL, it motivates them immensely, and also as rookies they are in a comparatively comfortable homely fabric.
“Even if you see the other young boys, they are taken by their local teams only. Yash was happy about being picked by DC,” Vijay Dhull further said.
Shedding light on the importance of the cash-rich league for players at such a young age, Vijay Dhull said that the tournament will help them mature a little more when they share the dressing room with some of the best cricketers from all over the world.

Playing for Gujarat, Nari Contractor was the first to achieve the feat while Virag Awate of Maharashtra was the second player to do so.

Yash Dhull had scored 113 in the first innings against Tamil Nadu. Incidentally, he remained unbeaten on the same score in the second innings as the match ended in a draw.

Shane Watson Will Soon Join Delhi Capitals As Assistant Coach In IPL 2022

The Delhi-based franchise has parted ways with Mohammad Kaif and Ajay Ratra, the assistant coaches from last season. Mohammad Kaif served in the role from 2019 while Ajay Ratra’s stint was limited to a single season (2021).

Delhi Capitals did some smart business in the IPL 2022 Auctions as they signed players David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur to strengthen their squad. The Indian Premier League will be more competitive from the next season with the introduction of two new teams and Delhi Capitals are looking to reshuffle the coaching staff to instil new ideas in the team.

Shane Watson has a rich experience of winning the IPL title as a player with two teams – Rajasthan Royals (2008) and Chennai Super Kings (2018). Shane Watson amassed 1490 runs in 140 IPL games averaging 22.57 and took 153 scalps averaging 24.81.

Shane Watson played 59 Tests, 190 ODIs and 58 T20Is for Australia before retiring in 2016 from international cricket after debuting in 2002.

Ajit Agarkar Will Also Join Delhi Capitals As Assistant Coach

“He will be joining Delhi Capitals as assistant coach,” an IPL source confirmed.

The 44-year-old pacer has played 26 Tests, 191 ODIs and four T20Is for India, taking an aggregate of 349 wickets. Ajit Agarkar joining Delhi Capitals also ends speculation that he may join the Indian team as a bowling consultant.

Ajit Agarkar, who picked up 288 wickets in 191 ODIs and 58 in 26 Tests for India, also led Mumbai for the first time in the Ranji Trophy and helped them win the title in 2012-13. Delhi’s assignment will be his first time in any coaching role.

In IPL, the pacer played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) from 2011 to 2013. He had also played for Kolkata Knight Riders between 2008 and 2010. In all, he has played 62 T20 matches and picked up 47 wickets.

Delhi Capitals have been among the most consistent and successful teams in the last few seasons of the IPL. They have been in the playoffs in the last three years, including making the final in 2020 when they lost to Mumbai Indians.

Delhi Capitals Co-Owner Parth Jindal Opened The Doors For ‘Unsold’ Amit Mishra In Any Capacity For Delhi Capitals In IPL 2022

Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal penned down a beautiful message for veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra. He seemingly opened the doors for a coaching role at the franchise for the latter.

Amit Mishra, 39, did not find any takers in the 2022 IPL mega-auctions. The veteran leg-spinner was part of the Delhi Capitals set-up until last season but the franchise opted against acquiring him back at auction.

Delhi Capitals Would Love To Have Amit Mishra Back In Any Capacity Seemed Fit: Parth Jindal

In a heartwarming post on Twitter, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal expressed his gratitude towards Amit Mishra for his stellar contributions to the franchise. He also stated that he would love to have the leggie back in the mix in a coaching capacity.

He wrote: “To one of the @IPL greats @MishiAmit we @DelhiCapitals would like to salute everything you have done for us over all these years and would love to have you back at DC in whatever capacity you see fit as your insights would be most valuable. Mishy bhai DC is yours for life.”

Amit Mishra has been one of the champions of the cash-rich league since its inception back in 2008. He kick-started his IPL journey with the Delhi franchise (2008-10) before moving to the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in 2011.

Following the suspension of the now-defunct Deccan Chargers, the Haryana cricketer went on to represent Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013 & 2014 respectively. Amit Mishra, who made his Test debut back in 2008, returned to the Delhi franchise for yet another association back in 2015. It has now ended with 2022 mega-auctions.

Amit Mishra Claimed 166 IPL Wickets Which Is Best Among Indians And 3rd Best Overall After Lasith Malinga And Dwayne Bravo

It remains to be seen if this is indeed the end of the road for Amit Mishra in the IPL. But if that’s the case, then he can hold his head high with pride. He finishes as India’s most successful bowler and the third-highest wicket-taker in the history of the competition after pacers Lasith Malinga and Dwayne Bravo.

In 154 games spread over a span of 13 years, Amit Mishra claimed 166 wickets at an average of 23.95 and an economy rate of 7.4. This includes four four-wicket-hauls and a five-for. He also holds the record for most hat-tricks (3) in IPL history. The right-handed cricketer claimed three hat-tricks for three different franchises.

One of the most consistent batters in world cricket currently, Steve Smith found no takers in IPL 2022 auctions.
Even at 42 years of age, Imran Tahir continues to be one of the best spinners plying their trade in T20 leagues across the globe, but he wasn’t picked by any franchise.

Piyush Chawla has been a constant name in the IPL ever since its inception in 2008 but won’t feature in IPL 2022. The Mr IPL, Suresh Raina has to be the biggest name which missed out on finding a team this season. Ishant Sharma, who has played 93 IPL matches since the 2008 IPL, also found no takers. Amit Mishra, who was one of the oldest players in the IPL 2022 mega auction, went unsold. Delhi Capitals had not retained him.
