BWF World Championship 2015: An easy win for P Kashyap in the first round
P Kashyap beat Erik Mejis of Netherlands in the first round of the BWF World Championship 2015 in straight sets 21-17, 21-10 at Jakarta just few moments ago. It was a dominating performance by Kashyap who was trailing in the first set but came back well in the match.
In the first set, both players got off taking 1 point each. Erik Mejis then took 3 points to take a lead of 4-1. The Indian player made errors and Erik Mejis took advantage of it. Erik Mejis and P Kashyap took alternate points. At the changeover Erik Mejis led 11-6. After the interval P Kashyap from being 7-12 down came back and took 5 successive points to level the score at 12-12. Erik Mejis and P Kashayp then equaled at 15-15 before P Kashyap took 3 successive points to lead 18-15. Mejis tried his best to comeback in the match but P Kashyap won the first set 21-17.
In the second set, P Kashayp dominated right from the start. P Kashyap and Mejis equalled at 1-1 before P Kashyap took 7 successive points to take a commanding lead of 8-1. P Kashayp led at the interval 11-3. P Kashayp then took little time to win the match and took the second game 21-10. Mejis tried to comeback into the match but P Kashyap was too good for him
P Kashayp was trailing in the first set and took time to settle but P Kashyap then cameback and won the match with ease.
