Sai Praneeth loses in the 3rd round of Bitburg Open
Sai Praneeth lost to Rajiv Osupeh in the 3rd round of Bitburg Open played at Germany late last night. It was a dominating performance by the England player who played some excellent badminton as Praneeth gave a tough fight to Ospueh and never allowed him to come back into the match.
In the first game Praneeth started off to a great start taking a 5-1 lead. The Indian player took an 11-10 lead at the interval. After the interval Rajiv came back to reduce the gap to 12-13. Soon after the England player leveled the score at 14-14. Pranneth managed to take 16-15 lead and took four successive points for 19-15 lead. Praneeth took the first game 21-17.
In the second game Rajiv dominated the game right from the start and never allowed Praneeth to come back into the match. Rajiv took 11-3 lead at the interval. After the interval Rajiv continued to dominate and won the second set 21-6.
In the third and deciding game it was closely fought game as both players fought for each. Praneeth began well taking 9-7 lead. Rajiv came back to reduce the gap to 8-9. At the interval Praneeth led 11-10. After the interval Rajiv equaled the score at 11-11. Rajiv then took a 14-12 lead and continued to take the lead. Praneeth tried his best to comeback into the match but Rajiv won the game 21-18.
With this the journey in this tournament ends for India.
