Dubai Super Series Finals: Saina Nehwal beats Bae in a thriller

Saina Nehwal beat Bae of Korea 15-21, 21-7 21-17 in Dubai super series finals earlier today. It was an excellent match as both of the players played some great badminton. Saina Nehwal was at her best and was able to move her opponent. This match a much tougher match than the previous two matches in the group.

In the first set Bae got off to good start taking the lead. Bae played some excellent shots which proved too much for Saina. At the interval it was 11-10 in the favor of the Korean. After the interval the Korean player moved Saina around the court and the Indian player committed a lot of mistakes. After being 13-12 down Saina took only 3 points. Bae took the first game 21-15.

In the second game Saina and Bae was fighting for each point. At one time it was 6-6 and after Saina did not allow Bae to come back in the game. At the interval it was 11-6 in the favor of the Indian. After the interval Saina Nehwal played some brilliant smashes and did not allow the Korean to comeback in the set as Bae got only 1 point after the interval. Saina took the game 7-21.

In the third set of the game Bae began off to a positive start taking a 4-1 lead in the game, but Saina came back in the match to level up 10-10. At the interval it was 11-10 in the favor of the Korean. After the interval Saina played some excellent badminton and tired the opponents with her strokes but Saina was firm. Saina ended the match with a powerful smash. Saina won the third set 17-21. As a result of this Saina won the match 15-21, 21-7 and 21-17.

With this match Saina has topped her group and will face the runner up of the other group. This match will be a excellent practice for the tough matches ahead. The semi finals will be very tough and hope that she could continue her good form in the semi finals. It has been a good tournament so far winning 3 matches.
