Saina Nehwal cruises into the finals of China Master Super Series

Saina Nehwal beat Wang Yihan in straight sets in the semi finals of the China Masters Super Series played at China just few moments ago. It was an dominating performance by the Indian player who outplayed the Chinese opponent in all departments and never allowed her to come back into the match.

In the first game the Chinese player started off aggressively taking the first two points, soon after Saina Nehwal equaled the score at 2-2. Wang took the next 2 points to take a 4-2 lead.

Saina Nehwal came back strongly to equal the score at 5-5. The Indian top player took 4 successive points for a 9-5 lead. At the interval Saina Nehwal led 11-7. After the interval Wang played some excellent badminton and took 3 successive points to equal the score at 11-11. Saina Nehwal dominated the game and never allowed Wang to come back into the match. From 14-13 Saina Nehwal took 7 successive points to seal the first game 21-13.

In the second game both players got alternate points till 6-6. Saina Nehwal played an excellent shot down the line to take a lead of 6-5. Both players played some excellent badminton playing some excellent placement and drop shots.


Saina Nehwal was aggressive with her strokes. At the interval Saina led 11-10. After the interval both players fought for each point. Wang made a lot of mistakes hitting the shuttle into the net. Both players were equal at 18-18 before Saina Nehwal took 3 successive points to take second set 21-18 and match 21-13,21-18.

She will now face Li Xuerui in the finals tomorrow.
