Indian ace Saina Nehwal was knocked out in the semi-final of the Malaysian Open Super Series as she lost to Tai Zu Ying in straight sets 19-21,13-21 just a few moments. Saina Nehwal made a good come back after initial stutter in the first game but in the second game, she did not look at her best.

In the first game, Tai began off to a positive start as she took a commanding 7-0 lead at the start. Saina Nehwal tried her best to come back in the match but Tai played excellent shots which put Saina under pressure. At the interval, Tai led 11-4. After the interval, Saina was behind 8-16. At 14-20, Saina took 5 points in succession and the match was at an interesting point, but then Tai kept her cool under pressure to win the first set 21-19.

In the second game, Tai again began off to a positive start taking the first two points. Saina came back to equal the score at 2-2. From thereon Tai always maintained a two-point gap till 15-13. Saina Nehwal tried to put pressure on Tai but the Chinese Taipei player played excellent shots. At the interval, Tai led 11-9. After the interval, Tai put consistent pressure on Saina. Tai won the second set 21-13 and match 21-19, 21-13.

With this, the Indian challenge in the Malaysian Open Super Series ends.
