Sindhu eyes for Olympic qualification tournament
Pusarla Venkat Sindhu, the ace badminton player from Hyderabad has now the main focus on the qualification championship of Rio Olympics at the end of this year. And looking forward to the championship, Sindhu said her strength in the preparation will be the victory against Olympics champion Li Xuerui from China. According to Sindhu, that will be the positive part from her World Championship performance. The 19-year old female badminton player who is being presently ascribed the country’s second best player after Saina Nehwal, was in Kolkata to attend a function on Thursday.
And Sindhu divulged that she was surely upset after being crashed out of the tournament in the quarterfinal. “But at the same time, the positive part which I have taken from this show is that I could be able to defeat Li Xuerui in the pre-quarterfinal. She is one of the World’s all-time great players.” Sindhu said on Thursday. Incidentally, Li Xueirui won the gold medal in the London Olympics.
Sindhu also added, “Gopichand sir also has asked me to remember the match always whenever I will start training as defeating a great shuttler like Xuerui is not matter of joke.” Sindhu will be flying soon to participate in the Korea and Japan Open Masters championships and after those championships, Sindhu will have to take part in the Olympic qualification tournament.
Sindhu said, “I must have to earn the qualification for the Rio Olympics. And to earn it, I will start preparation very soon.”
