K Srikanth beat Tangosak in the first round match at the Yonex Indian Open Super Series at the Siri Fort Complex at New Delhi just here few moments ago. It was a dominating performance by Srikanth who played some excellent badminton and did not give a chance for Tangosak to comeback in the match at any point of time.

In the first set, Tangosak began well taking a 2-0 lead but Srikanth came back to level at 3-3. Then Srikanth played some excellent badminton to take a 9-6 lead. Srikanth played some excellent smashes. At the interval, it was 11-8 in favor of Srikanth.

After the interval, Tangosak made an effort to comeback in the game. Srikanth led 18-13 before Tangosak tried to reduce the gap. Srikanth ended the game with a smash to win the first game 21-17. Tangosak made errors by gifting points on his serve and Srikanth did also the same on one occasion.

In the second game, Tangosak again began off to a positive start taking a 2-0 lead before Srikanth leveled it at 3-3. This time Tangosak took an 8-4 lead but Srikanth took 5 successive points to make 9-8 in favor of Srikanth. Then Tangosak equaled at 10-10.

At the interval, Srikanth took a slender lead of 11-10. After the interval, Srikanth played some excellent smashes and drop shots. Tangosak tried his level best but Srikanth was brilliant and won the set 21-17. His performance in this round will give him the confidence to perform well in the coming matches.
