New Delhi, Dec 5 (IANS) The rechristened Premier Badminton League (PBL) on Saturday announced that Star Sports will broadcast the season which will be held from January 2 to 17. 

“We are proud that we have a partner like Star Sports who are committed to hosting the PBL. With this partnership, the viewers will get high-quality live matches with new-age technologies. We are confident that PBL will be popular and will attract new viewers,” PBL chairman Akhilesh Das Gupta said. PBL will have 18 matches, which include 15 ties with five matches each, followed by two semi-finals and one final. 

The tournament will feature six franchises and each will host a two-day leg. PBL was renamed from Indian Badminton League (IBL) on December 3.

    The IANS was founded by Indian American publisher Gopal Raju as the India Abroad News Service. It was later renamed the Indo-Asian News Service.
