Shane Bond (New Zealand) – 6/23 vs Australia (at Port Elizabeth on 11th March 2003)

It was the fifth game of the Super Sixes stage in the 2003 ODI World Cup. After New Zealand sent the defending champions Australia to bat first, their right-arm fast bowler Shane Bond was furious with the ball in hand. While the Aussie batsmen didn’t find any clue to handle him, Bond managed the bowling figures of 10-2-23-6.
Bond’s bowling performance helped the Kiwi side to restrict the Australian team to 208/9 (50 overs) in the first innings. However, the New Zealand team failed to chase that target as they were bundled out for just 112 runs (30.1 overs), thanks to the Australian fast-bowler Brett Lee’s incredible fifer (9.1-2-42-5).
