Star Indian Speedster Prasidh Krishna, who has been out of cricketing action since August 2022 due to a stress fracture, is unlikely to be fit in time for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup at home, which eventually rules him out of IPL 2023.
The Indian team had multiple injury concerns in the recent past with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant missing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to injury concerns. Another man who has slipped out of the radar is Karnataka fast bowler Prasidh Krishna, who has now been sidelined from competitive cricket for six months.
On Friday, February 10, a PTI report claimed that the Rajasthan Royals speedster Prasidh is unlikely to be in contention for a place in the ODI World Cup squad. While the 26-year-old has been undergoing an intense rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The news agency quoted a BCCI source as saying:

“Prasidh has a stress fracture and in the case of this particular form of injury, you cannot put a date on a prospective comeback.”
The report further claimed the recovery process for every player would be different and, unfortunately, Prasidh is still not fit enough to play.
“Every player has a different body type and recovery process and time would be different. It could be anything between six months to one year. In the case of Prasidh, he is still not fit enough to return to play and, unfortunately, he missed the entire domestic season.”
Prasidh Krishna Brings Such Tremendous Ability – Irfan Pathan Praises Prasidh Krishna’s Skillset
Former cricketer-turned-commentator Irfan Pathan feels that if Prasidh Krishna stays fit and consistent, he will be a key player for India. He said that Prasidh has the quality and bowled exceptionally well in last year’s IPL.
“Prasidh Krishna brings such tremendous ability, one is his pace, we have seen in One-Day cricket, how great bounce he derives out of the pitch. He bowls from near the stumps and swings the ball. He is quality and we have seen him in the IPL last year, touching 148 kmph. If this guy stays fit consistently and bowls for you in white ball cricket, you’ll get a solid wicket-taker,” said Pathan while speaking to Star Sports.
