This month India’s national cricket team has got new selectors. With the end of the tenure of MSK Parsad and Gagan Khoda, Sunil Joshi gained the position of chief selector while Harvinder Singh replaced Khoda.
Earlier, the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising of Madan Lal, RP Singh and Sulakshana Naik took the interview of five shortlisted candidates. At last, Joshi and Harvinder were the most favourites among the candidates.
Recently, the new selection committee selected India’s squad for the ongoing ODI series against South Africa. Hardik Pandya, Shikhar Dhawan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar made comeback in the series.
With the entry of new members in the selection panel, the fans will be hoping for some fruitful changes in the team.
Also, some new players will get the chance in the team while some will have to wait for long to get the place back. Let’s take a look.

Khaleel Ahmed:
Being a lefty, the fast bowler had got the edge over his competitor but soon he turned out to be an expensive bowler. With the likes of Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and Navdeep Saini, Khaleel Ahmed had lost his place in the team. He couldn’t quite extend that wicket-taking capability and was dropped from the team.
He had an impressive performance in the recently-concluded series between India A and New Zealand XI. He had easily picked the wickets of opposition. But the tough competition in the team might now make tough for him to find a spot.
The left-arm pacer Khaleel, who made the debut in the team in 2018, last featured in the team in 2019 against Bangladesh where he was badly beaten.
The 22-year-old has played 11 ODIs and 14 T20Is where he picked 15 and 13 wickets respectively.
