The second qualifier at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi was a nail biting encounter. Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Gujarat Lions played like champion sides to showcase their supremacy, but in the end, it were the Sunrisers Hyderabad that ended up winning with four balls to spare. The chief architect behind Sunrisers’ win was none other than skipper David Warner, as the southpaw’s unbeaten knock of 93 was simply magnificent.

However, in the 18th over of the Sunrisers’ chase, an ugly episode came to the fore as Lions’ Praveen Kumar got carried away by emotions and charged towards Warner. On a full length delivery by Kumar, Warner got stuck and defended. The ball went towards Kumar, who did an action of throwing the ball back towards Warner.

However, Kumar didn’t stop there as he lividly charged towards Warner, before he was stopped by Lions wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik. It was surely an ugly episode which displayed the tempers which flare during a crunch game. Check out the video below of that confrontation.

Warner was ecstatic with the win and said that it was a great team effort from his side. “I am not going to take any credit, we all must come out and do the job as well as we can. There were a few emotions out there. Some silly shots and silly errors at times. If there are two batsmen at the end, it’s hard to stop, especially here and at Bangalore. I thought we have to come back strong from the last time we played them (RCB). We won the toss and bowled, and they put the runs on the board,” Warner said.
