The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah once again impressed with his brilliant bowling skills during the Visakhapatnam T20I against Australia. Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra feels that Jasprit Bumrah is an asset of the Indian national cricket team.
On Sunday (24 February), India suffered a last-ball defeat in the low-scoring first T20I of the two-match home T20I series against Australia. After Australia sent the host side to bat first, India only managed to score 126/7.
Though the opener Rohit Sharma (5) was dismissed at early, another opener KL Rahul and the skipper Virat Kohli’s 55-run partnership helped India to get a good start. While Virat Kohli scored 24 runs, KL Rahul finally returned to the form by scoring 50 off 36 balls. However, once KL Rahul-Virat Kohli’s partnership was broken, India lost the momentum in that innings.

Only MS Dhoni was the other batsman to reach the double-digit score in that innings. He played a crucial knock of 29 in 37 balls and remained not out as India managed to get to a low total.
In reply, Australia had a poor start as they once went down to 5/2. Later, the opener D’Arcy Short and the no.4 batsman Glenn Maxwell provided a crucial 84-run partnership for the third wicket. However, in the late moment of the game, India was back on track after breaking that third-wicket partnership. In the last over, Australia needed 14 runs to win, and they snatched the victory on the final ball of the match.
The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah once again dominated over the opposition batsman. He ended the match with the impressive bowling figures of 4-0-16-3. His bowling massively helped India to challenge Australia despite the low first-innings total.
Aakash Chopra believes Jasprit Bumrah is Virat Kohli of Indian bowling
The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is one of the top batsmen in the modern world cricket. He is one of the very important cricketers in the present Indian national cricket team.
Aakash Chopra believes that Jasprit Bumrah has similar or more value in the Indian national cricket team than Virat Kohli.
On his official Twitter account, Aakash Chopra wrote, “Bumrah is Kohli of the Indian bowling. Or may be, he’s even more important than his skipper. What. An. Asset. #IndvAus @StarSportsIndia”
