As per reports, it has come to notice that Ajay Shirke, former BCCI Secretary, has been trying to sabotage the limited-overs series between India and England as he called the ECB President Giles Clarke to call-off the ODIs and T20Is against India.
Shirke was not at all amused and hit out at the rumors while talking with CNN-News 18:
“You used the word sabotage and it is a very strong word and it makes a very strong headline.
“I speak to English Cricket Board President Giles Clarke very frequently because he is my friend. I will release the details of my exchange with Clarke when the right time comes,” said Shirke.
Earlier, the Supreme Court of India sacked BCCI President Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke from their respective posts as per an order announced on January 2, as the apex board failed to implement the Lodha recommendations.
The limited-overs series starts from January 15 with the first game be played at Pune.
