Ajit Agarkar Agrees To Have MS Dhoni Seat In Wankhede Stadium

MS Dhoni’s gigantic winning six in the grand finale of the World Cup 2011 victory at the iconic Wankhede Stadium is the ever-lasting memory of every Indian fan. To cherish that memory forever, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is looking to name an MS Dhoni seat in the stand where his famous World Cup-winning six had landed. Former Indian cricketer Ajit Agarkar has also agreed to MCA’s proposal

Recently, the video of that six went viral all over Social Media after MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket. The former Indian captain through an Instagram post informed the cricket world that he has decided to hang his boots. He shared an emotional video clip that had all the fond memories of him during his journey.

MCA apex council member Ajinkya Naik has proposed to find out the area in the Wankhede Stadium where that World Cup-winning six landed. That seat in the stand would be named on MS Dhoni.

Ajit Agarkar stated that no one would have the problem if a seat is named after the World Cup winner. He said that it was the historic shot that led India to lift the coveted trophy after 28 years.

“I don’t think anyone would have a problem if the seat at Wankhede Stadium is named after MS Dhoni after that particular shot. It was a historic one as it took India 28 years to win the World Cup again,” Agarkar said on Star Sports show Cricket Connected.

Dhoni retired from international cricket after playing 350 ODIs, 90 Tests and 98 T20Is in his career, amassing 10,773, 4876 and 1617 runs in the three formats respectively. He led India to win three ICC trophies, ICC World Cup 2011, T20 World Cup 27 and Champions Trophy 2013.

MS Dhoni would be seen in action for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2020 in the UAE starting from 19th September.
