The Mumbai Indians batsman Ambati Rayudu was being carried off the field after he suffered an injury during the last night game between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant. Commentator Sanjay Manrekar reckoned that Rayudu had either suffered a groin injury or had either pulled off his hamstring. Rayudu was taken off the field after the strategic timeout, for the unknown reasons.
As of now, the impact of the injury is still not known and no one knows that how much games Rayudu will be missing.
It was not a great day for Mumbai Indians as they suffered a loss in the nail-biting encounter against Rising Pune Supergiant. At the start, it was Pune that had the game in their favour but Mumbai soon made a comeback in the game and they needed 13 runs off the last over to win.
Skipper Steven Smith smashed two back to back sixes off Kieron Pollard to sail the team to a win in their first encounter of the Indian Premier League.
It is also learnt that Kieron Pollard has also been injured and might miss few games for Mumbai Indians.
Both Rayudu and Pollard joins long ist of players to be injured before or during IPL as earlier, more than a total of 16 players got injured or were ruled out of the league, fully or partially. If ruled out for long, it will be a big blow for Mumbai Indians as the success of the team heavily depends upon the form of these two players.
Mumbai Indians will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their next encounter on April 9 in at their home ground Mumbai.
