Indian captain MS Dhoni has achieved yet another record in the third Test against England. Dhoni struck a a patient unbeaten 50 on the third day of the test. In this innings, Dhoni became the first captain ever to score fifty sixes in Test cricket when he smashed England off-spinner Moeen Ali over the midwicket boundary.

Dhoni went past Brian Lara of the West Indies, who had scored 49 sixes while captaining the West Indians. Clive Lloyd (48), Vivian Richard (46) and Ricky Ponting (37) are next best.

Also, Dhoni, as a Test wicketkeeper, scored his sixth fifty in 18 innings in England.  He is behind only South Africa’s John Waite, who has seven in 27 innings. Aussie legend Rodney Marsh also scored six fifties in 35 innings in England.
