India notched up a 74 run victory in the first tour match against West Australia XI thanks to Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan’s 74 runs innings and medium pacer Barinder Sran took two wickets for 24 runs. For West Australia Travis Brit scored 74 off 60 balls. The positive point is Shikhar Dhawan found his form back and Sran produced looked promising. India will play an ODI match tomorrow at WACA, Perth.

This is a dream start for Indian batsmen in the first tour match of the Australia series. Rohit Sharma failed to get his going. But, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli scored 74 each respectively and built a 149 runs third wicket partnership that helped India to put a mammoth 192 for 4 on board. Now, it is time for bowlers to defend the total.
