India’s wait to get off the mark in wins in the Australian tour continued during their 1st of the two warm up games. As the Indians, lost yet another game against Australia, the familiar team whom they played against past 3 months.

Australia won toss and elected to bat on a turf which wasn’t producing much to the bowler, adding shorter boundaries on either sides. David Warner off to a flyer with starting the game with a boundary of the first ball off Binny. Finch took over Bhuvneshwar Kuma on other by hitting the first two balls for fours. However, Binny got rid of Finch who departed for run a ball 20 in 9th over but scorecard read 62 by that time. Warner continued to be devastating as Watson looked in good touch only till he fell to a shorted delivery from Mohit Sharma. Soon inform Smith gone for just a run after been getting his leg stump cleaned up.

Bailey joined Warner in 17th over itself but the score was already at 120. Spinners tried to cash in the progress but Warner tried to aim the shorter boundaries for scoring more and got past his century in just 79 balls but soon departed to a straighter delivery from Akshar Patel. But the real trouble started for India when Maxwell came to the crease. He started in his own way taking over spinners. After Shami got rid of Bailey for 44, Mitchell Marsh joined Maxwell and both went over the Indian bowlers.

Maxwell, who completed his fifty in 34 balls, went bonkers smashing the ball on to over boundaries. Later, he took just another 23 balls to get past the century mark. Marsh departed after sharing a 91 run stand in just 10 overs but Maxwell took on Umesh Yadav in the same over hitting him to hattrick sixes and yielded 27 runs. Soon he retired for 122 of 57 balls with another 5 over left in the innings. However, Johnson scored some useful runs but India managed to bowl them out by 49th over for 371 runs.

Chasing 372 to win, comeback man started with a glorious shot in the first over but couldn’t resist long as he got out for just 8. Dhawan on other hand, who was in a poor form looked positive by scoring some good shots. Kohli, who too was passing through poor form got out after hitting some good looking shots.

But it was Rahane, who Stared with the bat. He kept finding the boundaries regularly with both Rahane & Dhawan were good between wickets. They both shared a century stand before Rahane holed out for a 52 ball 66. Soon Dhawan’s rusty innings came to an very end and in the next over, Raina got run out to a top effort from Warner. Another brilliant effort followed up on next ball as Starc took a one handed stunner off Dhoni’s pull resulting in a Golden Duck to Indian Captain. Binny rather trying to spend time at crease, went for big hit and paid the price, leaving India as 186 for 7. Rayudu who was like scoring a run every two balls till getting into double figures, all of a sudden took over Doherty hitting four & six on succession. He followed up with back to back fours against Marsh in the next.

Later Rayudu smashed 3 sixes off Steven Smith on on-side and completed his fifty in just 37 balls. However, Rayudu missed out on making it big as he holed out to Keeper for 53. Indian didn’t resiti long after that as their innings came to an end in 46th over for 265 with India losing the game by 106 runs. Pat Cummins was the best bowler of the day with picking up 3 for 30.
