Odds will be stacked against Pakistan when they play Australia in the historic pink-ball Test match in Adelaide from November 29. The home side registered a big win by an innings and five runs in the opening Test and will look to win the series. Pakistan, on their part, will search for their maiden victory on the tour.
They lost both the completed T20Is and suffered a defeat in the opening Test as well. A defeat in the pink-ball Test here will surely bring Misbah-ul-Haq, chief coach and chief selector, under the spotlight once again.
Conditions –
Pink balls are always expected to help bowlers but there will be a good competition between bat and ball. The weather doesn’t look promising and showers are expected to play a part on each day of the match.
Here is the likely playing XI of both the teams –
Australia confirmed that they will go in with the same playing XI, which means James Pattinson will not be part of the Test match. He, along with Cameron Bancroft, has been released to play Sheffield Shield
Playing XI: David Warner, Joe Burns, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Tim Paine, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood
Pakistan are set to bring back Mohammad Abbas into playing XI. He was surprisingly kept out of the playing XI for the opening Test. It is also confirmed that Imam-ul-Haq will open the innings as Azhar Ali said that he will bat at number three. The visitors might retain other members of the squad, which means that Naseem Shah will play another Test match.
Likely playing XI: Imam-ul-Haq, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Yasir Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas
