The trailer of “Azhar”, a biopic on former Indian skipper Mohammad Azharuddin, starring Emraan Hashmi. Azharuddin is one of the most successful but most controversial captains to lead the Indian side. The trailer of the film is out now and from the looks of it, the film seems to be crisp as it has more than sports elements like romance, love, betrayal, pride and patriotism meshed together in the trailer.
Prachi Desai plays Azhar’s first wife, who felt betrayed on being passed over for his second wife, Sangeeta Bijlani, that has been played by Nargis Fakhri. The latter will probably reprise the rel life actress’ popular number. “Oye Oye”, as hinted the trailer. The story is the tale of Azharuddin’s rise to glory and the downfall that followed.
Directed by Tony D’Souza and produced by Ekta Kapoor, “Azhar” also stars Lara Dutta as a lawyer, Huma Qureshi as Jawala Gutta and Gautam Gulati as Ravi Shastri.
The trailer has already got a good response so it is expected that Azhar will unearth the ugliest secrets of the most loved game of India, “Azhar” is scheduled to release on May 13, 2016.
