Babar Azam Insists On Comparison With Javed Miandad And Inzamam-Ul-Haq Rather Than Virat Kohli

Pakistan’s young prodigal batsman, Babar Azam has said that he should be compared to former Pakistan greats like Inzamam-ul-Haq and Javed Miandad rather than the current Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. Indian captain Virat Kohli is undeniably one of the greatest batsmen of his generation. Babar Azam, on the other hand, has also established himself as a world-class batsman in a short period.

This has led to comparisons being drawn between the two legendary batsmen of arch-rival nations. Kohli has scored more than 20,000 runs in international cricket so far and although he might have had a rough patch recently, he seems to be racking up records for fun.

Now, Babar Azam has said that he should be compared to former Pakistan greats like Javed Miandad and Inzamam ul Haq rather than the current Indian skipper, Virat Kohli.

Babar Azam Opens Up On His Comparisons With Virat Kohli

“If you want to compare me with someone, I would like to be compared to Pakistan’s players, instead of Virat Kohli. We have had legends like Javed Miandad, Younis Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq. If you compare me to these legends, I will like it more and feel proud of my accomplishments,” Azam told reporters in a teleconference.

Babar Azam has been a rising star for Pakistan in recent times and has received praise from all over the world for his impressive batting antics. He is playing with an average of above 50 in limited-overs cricket and with average above 45 in Test cricket.

Virat Kohli Has Been On Top Of The Charts In The Last Decade

Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsman in world cricket at the moment. He is racking up records for fun, and he is likely to reach the summit in this list in coming times.

The flamboyant Indian skipper has already smashed 70 international centuries so far and just seems to get better with days going by.

Kohli is now eighth on the list of the most runs scored by a batsman in international cricket. The Delhi-based star has a very long career ahead and the kind of form that he has been in, it seems a considerable possibility that Virat Kohli will lead this chart too.
