A blistering bowling performance from the former Indian bowler LP Balaji and an all-round show from Washington Sundar helped Patriots to win their second game of TNPL. After winning the toss the captain of Thiruvallur Veerans and the man in form Baba Aprajith decided to bat first. The team suffered regular blows but still managed to score a total of 141. Laxmipathy Balaji starred with the ball taking 5 wickets for just 19 runs. He was well supported by Washington Sundar who chipped in with 2 wickets.

The Patriots after taking into account the results of past two matches recalled Sundar to the opening slot. Sundar along with KM Gandhi provided a match winning start to the Patriots by piling up 64 runs for the first wicket. Rest of the work was done by Abhinav Mukund who scored 47 runs off 36 deliveries to take his team one run ahead of Veerans. Patriots won the easily game with six wickets in hands.

L.P. Balaji was awarded Man of the Match award for his brilliant bowling performance.

With this loss, the VB Thiruvallur Veerans slipped to third place in the points table whereas Albert Tuti Patriots climbed one spot by registering their second win in 5 matches.
