Perth Scorchers have been dealt with an injury blow as their skipper Adam Voges has been ruled out of the Big Bash League for next two weeks due to a hamstring injury. The right-handed batsman still hopes to play his home game against Melbourne Stars on January 14.
Voges has been in awful form this season as his score-sheet shows a series of low scores. He has scored just seven runs in four innings, in which his highest score 3* came against Sydney Thunder. It was in this game during which he made his way out of the field after suffering a hamstring injury.
The incident happened when he was trying to play a slog-sweep and an extra stretch resulted in a hamstring injury. Voges was then forced to retire after that extra stretch and now has been ruled out for two weeks.
So far, Perth Scorchers have won three out of four games they have played till now. They’ll be looking to continue their good form in the upcoming matches as well so as to end in top 4.
